I have really muscular thighs (no thigh gap here!) and wear their groove pants for yoga, running (where there's definitely thigh rubbing) and casual wear and have not experienced pilling in the thigh area.

Well, they've stated that they don't want people who require larger sizes to wear their clothes, so, I don't think that will be happening.
