Totally agree. I will say though, this show has helped my mom understand why I stayed in an abusive relationship for as long as I did and how my PTSD from being raped affects me. So while the coverage of the show can be gross, the show’s portrayal itself is good.
its not what they are talking about, its what they are not talking about.
Hmm, I have no problem with talking about a fake dick. I think fake dicks are very funny and worth talking about, actually! My problem is when in doing so, you characterize attempted rape as “seduction.”
Deeply disturbing as well are the conversations I’ve seen on forums like previously.com exposing some SERIOUS misconceptions about abusive relationships. Lots of stuff about “this is totally unrealistic, she’s a smart lawyer! She’s so well educated! That woman would NEVER put up with that kind of abuse IRL!”
In Sunday night’s Big Little Lies, Perry (Alexander Skarsgard) tries to have sex with his wife Celeste (Nicole…

My money’s on Flynn having already flipped for the FBI, and now they’re all scrambling to get whatever deals they can—if you’re the first to testify to the House it’s probably going to look better than if you were the last.
“Ask the Matriarchy” is a four-part advice series running on Thursdays.
To me it was Dave Chappelle being Dave Chappelle. People who watched his comedy specials in the early 2000s shouldn’t be surprised by this. He said a lot of stuff that was very insightful like:
I watched Spin last night, and Rich is leaving out a key part of the Cosby commentary - that being it was a callback to a joke done earlier in the show concerning a superhero who resorts to rape to maximize his “powers,” setting up a moral conundrum of “he rapes, but he saves lives.”
This wasn’t Andrew Dice Clay…
Plenty of people fear the dark. But there’s a particular anxiety felt among white people walking alone in the dark…
