It’s just keeping up with the times! Back in my day we used to “go to Blockbuster.” ;)

It's a tough job. I'm glad there are people willing / able to do it. It takes a special kind of person.

Air New Zealand is hands down the best airline I've ever flown. I'm so bummed they don't do domestic flights in the US!!

I love all these spelling bee stories! I’ve never gotten over going out on “good” in my kindergarten bee. (Good. G-O-O. Good)

Once in the hazy days of new motherhood, my husband took me out for an anniversary dinner at a very nice steakhouse and I ordered a six inch filet from our male waiter.

I make love because that’s what Salt n Pepa told me I should be doing.

I noticed that too; it looks like ... his lawyers don't know what his name is?? So weird.

I totally agree that your headspace affects how approachable you appear to others! Slightly related anecdote- after my youngest daughter was born, she spent a week in the NICU due to various issues and I spent a week trudging around the hospital exhausted and crying. No one spoke to me. The day they told me they were

Yep. When my dad died my mom called my husband’s cell phone ... that tipped me off before anything was actually said; mine was on the charger right next to his and hadn’t rung. I didn’t know what it was but I knew something horrible was going on.

Lol very true! I liked a comment on the godless parents one, then realized what I had done, then quickly unliked it. I choose to believe I was faster than the kinja notification system. Just like Instagram. :)

Followed your link Thursday night and have been reading it ever since. !!!!!!! My husband is generally a good guy but there are some issues that drive me nuts and I thought I was over-reacting (since he is generally great!) but this has given me a good lens through which to look at things.

I’m sorry Yorkshire. My BIL is in the midst of a horrible divorce and his ex pulls stuff like that - including having him drive across 4 states and stay in a hotel room for days before she decides she’s not letting him visit his kids after all. People who drag kids into grownup business are the worst. I hope things

Aw man, hang in there! I have 2 who are now past the nursing/infant stage but there were definitely (lots of) moments when I just wanted to jump out the window. I’m sure there’s a better word than claustrophobic for how having a baby nursing constantly makes you feel but yes, I’ve been there.

Yeah, that’s where we were. We didn’t do it until my daughter came home sad that our family didn’t have an elf. So now we have one, but he’s a super lazy elf. Sometimes he, uh...really likes the spot where he is so he’ll stay there more than one day. 😉

Someone find Carol Singers. She's gonna love this.

Omg I thought I was the only one! Nervous peers unite.

Ha! I clicked your link and went down the rabbit hole ... Who knew a 9 part exposé on grossly overpriced chocolate would be so interesting?? That author was dedicated - I loved the taste test/process of elimination detail. :)

Oh God, fuck your your neighbor. I’m so sorry. What were your parents thinking going along with that???!!!

Yes! There’s one called “Baies” that I always, ALWAYS read as “Babies” before I remember that doesn't make any sense.

Oh lord! That’s nuts. My oldest was 3 when I got pregnant with my second, and we only answered the questions she asked. Which due to her age were pretty vague - she didn’t care at all about sperm and eggs, but understood that daddy put the baby in mommy’s tummy. She did go to preschool and demonstrate in detail how
