I said the ICONIC ones: Ya know, Brando, Streep, Hoffman, Pacino, etc, etc, etc…

Yeah. I kinda figured that, so I decided to meet it w sarcastic pomposity. ;)

3:-/ *Not sure if serious* Theatre is for 'less-than-stunning' actors? What is your basis for this? You do know that almost every iconic 'film actor' started off in theatre; & that sustaining a performance for a few hours, in front of a live audience, is far more difficult than getting to do as many 3-4 min takes, as

Uh, have you heard of James Quall? Cause he & I would beg to differ. (So would Martin Landau's Bela Lugosi, mmkay?

Noice!

Oh, ok. You want a skit impersonation? Try Alec Baldwin as the quintessential Trump & Kate McKinnon as the quintessential Hillary & Tina Fey as the quintessential Palin & Fred Armisson as Obama, etc. None of which rely on 'catchphrases' (as all of Carvey's do) & all could easily be stretched into a film (which none of

Well, if Divine Chappelle wills it, so shall It Be. Trumple shall assimilate us all, be ye man or newt (I got better), Trumple shall assimilate us all. Do not struggle, Frothers & Cistures, Trumple Will Set us Fee.

He'll have his lawyers find a loophole & they'll find a way to make you pay him.

Dammit. Now, I have to watch Opportunity Knocks. Clean Slate is also a solidly entertaining film, as well.

Play it backwards & it says, 'Sell your soul to Trump'.

Well, just off the top of my head, impressions that are strong enough to carry a whole film: Such as Jim Carrey (who I normally dislike), was uncanny & heartbreaking as Andy Kaufman. Val Kilmer simply BECAME Jim Morrison. Will Ferrell's one man show, You're Welcome America, as Dubya (well, as much as depth as you can

I'm not saying it wasn't his choice. It was likely a combination of his choice & circumstances. But, almost every actor, coming off a string of underperforming films, who then has an epic failure like MoD, takes a 'break' from Hollywood.

Beat me to it. My favorite non-Wayne's World film from Carvey (besides Road to Wellville, tho Carvey's performance in it is disappointing).

First off, nowhere near the original statement of a 20 year hiatus. Second, in 2002, he was coming off of a massive, offensive, box office bomb (Masters of Disguise) & a string of movies that went nowhere. Not surprising he didn't work for 8 years.

Good call! While I enjoy the novel so much more than the movie, it's still a great movie. I feel like it's due a major reevaluation. Tho, I was a bit disappointed w Carvey's performance, simply because his character is written so differently from the novel. Still, I appreciate you bringing up the fun, largely

For that, I apologize.

You said he walked away from Hollywood for 20 years, and that's simply not true. He just made movies no one wanted to see. He's also started in several pilots that didn't get picked up. And, he WAS given his own show. It got cancelled, for better or worse. Nothing on his resume says he was being choosy or walked away.

Never said he wasn't good @ impressions. Said his impressions were very surfacey, sketchy, on the nose & didn't translate into anything much beyond SNL. But, hey, he's got fans like you.

Not talking about the original comics. Talking about the modern incarnation in AoS & their more prominent role in the Marvel universe; w a Marvel mandate that, 'No new X-Men are to be created' and that the focus be shifted to Inhumans.

Yeah, that's nonsense. The 'Best Of' compilations are always big sellers, the characters are remebered & beloved by many generations, the catchphrases often quoted to death by people of all ages & have spawned so many movie stars (who cut their teeth on the show & got name recognition purely based on their time in
