I’m bothered that this Pikachu has no nose and no tail.

Niche, sure. Japanese? Yeah, aside from MLB. Playstation IS made by a Japanese company. Still, would be like complaining that Nintendo games are mostly Japanese. Like a resounding “Duh.”
But if it’ll already have a translation, then what exactly is keeping the 3DS version from releasing in July? o_O
They never even got the chance to sell it to the general public yet! D: I doubt your average Joe or Jane Smith even knows this exists because it’s never seen a store shelf yet, the way they disappeared as soon as they restocked.
I mean, dunno about all the reviewers, but the ones who also do podcasts all seem to have a similar story: “Yeah I’ve just been obsessively playing Persona/Zelda/Nier/Nioh/Horizon, and I had to force myself to stop because I need to review these other games...” So all their reviews sound like “This is FINE, but I’d…
In the real world, you can wear leather and still be friends with horses and dogs and cats and stuff. Or like, how the ancient cultures with the most reliance on animals for their food/clothes were also the ones who were the closest to animals in general. It’s probably like that.
It’s probably just because these first few months are cram-packed with glowingly-reviewed 9s and 10s games, that “pretty good” games just look worse by proxy. The opposite effect happens when there’s a huge lull in releases, then any decent game gets a lot more enthusiastic support.
I was definitely thinking “bears,” when the name of the mode is “salmon run,” when all the bears gather at rivers to eat the breeding salmon.
Isn’t Neir more action than rpg? And Danganronpa is visual novel. Yakuza 0 is more GTA than JRPG, and Nioh is like samurai Dark Souls.
I liked the puzzles more, and the quality of life improvements, but the stories got sillier. (Somehow)
Yeah, which is why I’m excited for it. Never was interested in hunting monsters for weapon loot, but tell me I can catch and ride my own brightly-colored dragon, and I’m there.
Right? That whole presentation had some sort of weird ominousness about it.
I’m also excited for a localization of Monster Hunter Stories, though they just gave a broad “Fall” for release.
But everyone’s already complained about how Andromeda’s got garbage writing, particularly of their gay and trans characters. So you’re saying Andromeda is SJW because their LGBT characters are unrealistically written, but previous MEs are *not* SJW because their LGBT characters are better written?
Okay, I’ll probably regret this, but I’ll bite: what game were you force-fed women and POC? Because everyone points at Bioware, but as I recall, no one in DA:I ever even bothers to tell you their orientation unless you flirt at them, and all the races are made-up fantasy stuff.
Don’tcha just love how “SJW bullshit” just means “game includes women/POC/LGBT and treat them like humans”?
I’m kind of amazed at how many “Yeah my parents sold off my possessions without me knowing” stories are in these comments. Even after I moved out, my folks wouldn’t get rid of my stuff without at least a phonecall first. (And a lot of it is still in my old bedroom closet)
>.> You seriously gate-keeping Mike Fahey right now? GTFO.
Plus Bioware did a better job writing trans character Krem in DA: Inquisition, so it’s really not much to ask them to not take backwards steps.
Harvest Moon isn’t a Nintendo-developed game.
