I like John Krasinksi, but this job goes to Enver Gjokaj.
I think she’s well-positioned to show up with the cavalry in the finale.
This episode was written by Kirsten Beyer, and the showrunner is Michael Chabon...
STO continuity includes Captain Data of the USS Enterprise-E, among other things. There’s been a significant break.
I think the greater point is that the Doctor values all life, and wouldn’t normally sacrifice one person (save herself, probably) to save billions in the future under any circumstances.
Yep, I agree. I still think he would try.
Yeah, I picked the Klingons because it’s exactly the sort of thing I could see a desperate Picard trying, and the Empire would definitely refuse. As the other major superpower in the area, they’d be in the best position to help in terms of resources.
I still think he would have at least attempted to go rogue, or petition the Klingons, or something, before giving up completely.
I agree with Zack in one sense: I don’t think Picard would have given up immediately after the Federation did. All I need is one flashback that shows him trying something else and failing, and I’ll be good.
“The main character of this action movie might die” isn’t something that usually crosses my mind, but that doesn’t prevent me from enjoying the movie.
I know Picard was trying to protect the Ba’ku and loved his speech, “How many people does it take, admiral, before it becomes wrong?” but wasn’t there a way to work out some kind of compromise?
At least TNG was on a free, network station
How so?
Why the fuck does the super secret Tal Shiar need an even MORE super secret “hidden” cabal within it, which was, I guess, the entire reason for the Tal Shiar in the first place.
This one’s good, but is incredibly exposition-heavy.
What do you think “cold open” means that offends your sensibilities so much?
Yeah...you could argue that “Polyanna Trek” existed, briefly...the first 3/4 of TNG Season 1, maybe. But the writers backpedaled from that pretty hard, pretty fast.
Yeah, I just don’t really agree with that assessment.
