I actually did some googling for fan polls yesterday, and of the handful that I found, Tennant and Smith were generally the only New Who actors who cracked the top 3 of “best Doctor” polls. Tennant was generally ahead of Smith, and Baker was of course in the mix.

I seem to recall Matt Smith being pretty massively popular - at least in North America - but it’s not like I have any data, so I’m happy to leave it here. That’s not exactly what this article is about, anyway.
