Probably true, though I think I liked Clerks 2 more than just about anyone this side of Kevin Smith.
I did it! I found the guy who got the joke!
I probably won’t read them TBH, but I absolutely believe you. It’s pretty obvious that there’s a good story hiding in there.
It’s about the journey, man.
“Fascist regime arises from an aging democracy wrapped up in its own complacency” is a great story hook, if done competently.
The only applicable lesson is, “the Jedi kind of sucked,” and it seems like they learned that just fine!
Okay, so we’re talking about the same thing.
As with so much of the prequels, lots of good ideas, poorly executed.
Wait, I was thinking of the Galactic Republic.
Pretty different situations, no?
Hey, I resemble that remark.
I think a lot of those ideas are fine, but (unsurprisingly) incredibly undercooked.
The pod race was pretty cool.
That’s fair - like I said, I haven’t seen the prequels in ages. I also have no doubt that her stiffness is deliberate, at least when she’s acting in her capacity as Queen/Senator.
What is there in the prequels that could possibly have any relevance to the new movies? They themselves only existed to serve the original trilogy.
I haven’t seen any of the prequels since their original theatrical runs, but I...don’t remember Portman’s performance fondly. However, that’s almost completely due to the wretched dialogue. Few actors could take that material and elevate it, and Portman wasn’t able to do so.
...you know what? It just occurred to me that we might be talking about different people. Detmer is this one. If you’re talking about her, I assume her cybernetics are some sort of prosthetic as a result of injuries sustained at the Battle of the Binary Stars, since she didn’t have them in the pilot.
Except he clearly stated that the sources were both anonymous and unconfirmed, which removes any ambiguity.
I’m not well-versed in Tesla’s autopilot...does it really not have some kind of RADAR/LIDAR/forward-facing sensor that searches for obstacles?
