If I bought this, which I would, it would be exactly that - 3 priceless months in the garage over the winter and a nice toy/flip in the spring. There’s FAR worse ways and projects than this.

Buahuahahah!! You guys saying this isn’t a real “replica” is pretty hilarious!
“OMG! That fake Rolex only ‘resembles’ the fake Rolex’s you can get for $200. Why spend $20 for a replica that merely replicates an approximation of a replica! Pony up the $200 for a *real* fake that fakes being the real thing!”
Spoiler alert:
We need dreamers. I’ll sit back and wait for them to complete a full-sized test tube. Or they will fail and the idea will die again. I don’t know why there’s a need to shit all over these people’s efforts right now other than the fact that Elon jumpstarted this current incarnation. Elon = bad, therefore anything he…

I’m sure there are Alpina fanboys that will like this, but CP for me.
Seeing that click-bait ass thumbnail was enough for me to skip over the whole thing.
On the other hand, he owns a known high-maintenance BMW, so he can’t be all THAT smart can he?
Stop being hypocritical. You can’t disregard the performance benefits of lower profile tires as being track specific only, but then talk about the performance benefits of decreased rotational mass. Thats just as much a track specific performance increase as all the other benefits of low profile tires.
I mean, couldn’t *one* of you have given him a reasonable answer? The only non-troll answer is the Acadia, and he literally said he had no use for an SUV. I get that there’s a comedy element, but I thought there were supposed to be a few helpful suggestions?
No, gas stations sprang, fully formed, from the head of the mighty Henry Ford. Just like Athena and Zeus. It was never a problem that anyone ever had to deal with. Certainly not me in the backwoods of North Carolina, where there might be 30-40 miles until the next gas station, and certainly not last weekend.
Current electric vehicles run off electricity, which is available in every home and business.
This was fascinating to learn, as I had always assumed that gas stations, along with walmarts and starbucks’, had all just been created on day 7 when god said “I need a cheap mini rose in a glass tube for my lady, a days worth of guns and ammo for me, and a fancy coffee for the road trip”
It’s even more evident they don’t know what they’re talking about because with an EV you can “fill up” at home. Every night. You could never do that with an gas car.
Yeah, this. I am sick of reading articles that say “These cars are fantastic, but I would never buy an EV or hydrogen car because there aren’t enough charging stations.”
People will.
And this people is why we cant have nice things. When it started Uber was a side gig for people that already have jobs to make a few bucks on the side. Then a bunch of people decided to do it full time and bitch about how the system doesn’t work as they assume it should. Uber/Lyft didnt do anything to discourage this…
Oh my god, can you guys not spoil it for people who want the find out the race schedule from it’s pure, unadulterated source but can’t check twitter like every 7 seconds? Some of us have to work. Example headline:
