This is a life threatening emergency. We have to focus on things that we can do quickly to get the people of Puerto Rico out of harms way.

Ships have laundry facilities. And medical facilities.

Use decommissioned ship from around the world. That’s why I mentioned waiving the Jones Act.

Use demcomissioned ships.

And what will happen if they stay in the floodwaters?

The ships could be staffed by the same people who would otherwise be running shelters.

Step 1: Waive the Jones Act.

You want them to announce their donation? Or just send in the supplies? I am totally cool with the later.

In this case, the volunteers found and purchase much needed tools. That is a huge contribution to the rescue effort and someone that an unskilled (with regard to search and rescue) can do without training.

Why would you get out of your car to physically confront someone who was verbally threatening you? Wouldn’t it be smarter to just move your car and remove yourself from the threatening situation?

My entire point is that these flooding problems aren’t limited to the coast. Not by a long shot. Colorado isn’t exactly costal. But it deals with floods.

Simple. Just tell me where to move where I will be safe from the weather. 80% of the continental US is at risk for severe weather events in the next decade. So where do you want us “refugees” to go?

“Move now”.

Remember that story in the Bible about the time Jesus was going to feed the hungry, but didn’t because local government didn’t actually ask him to do it? Me neither.
