A better plan might be to interrupt President Trump’s speeches and press conferences with new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy. Americans will need the distraction of Shonda’s cool wit to cope with the reality that is our political landscape.

They have only known each other for 60 years. We should wait at least another decade before we decide if their relationship is up to heteronormative snuff.

I have never suspected Alzheimer’s in particular. But I think Trump has been displaying signs of dementia for years. His speech, his difficulty focusing and concentrating, his short term memory lapses, his poor information recall, his temper, etc.

Did you read the linked NYT article? The first paragraph reads as follows:

Trump isn’t recalling career diplomats. He is only recalling politically appointed diplomats.

I think that the existence of a process of considering individual cases means that some Ambassadors will get special treatment and be allowed to remain in their roles until a more convenient time. Others will not.

If being allowed to remain at a post past the innaguration is NOT special treatment, then why are requests to remain in place considered on a case-by-case basis? What is the review process for, if not to afford privilege to some but not all? If there is no special treatment, why not just allow ALL Ambassadors to…

I did read the article. Some Ambassadors were expecting special treatment due to family or other circumstances. And that special treatment is not being extended.

Ambassadors know that their terms end when a new President is elected. They have plenty of time to make preparations. And they know that they are not guaranteed an extension because of family obligations.

Did the diplomats NOT KNOW that they served at the leisure of the President that appointed them at that their jobs did not carry over to the next administration?

As much as I hate Trump, I have little sympathy for the Ambassadors and their families.

Do you remember when your mother told you that if a man was following you, go directly to the nearest ladies bathroom because he wouldn’t be able to enter? Yeah, me neither.

The uniforms also have to be chaste. The Mormon church has high standards for modesty.

Someone needs to explain to these fraudsters that cars don’t run you down. They run you under. That’s why pedestrian victims so often end up on the hood of the car or going through the dashboard. Now trucks? They can run you down.

The real tragedy is that multiple people died when rescue boats capsized. There were no life jackets in the boats. The boats were understaffed. And after the flood it came to light that the fire department didn’t have swift water rescue training. The loss of life was completely preventable.
