I have made it very clear that I understand that the theater wasn’t liable. That isn’t even remotely in question.

The theater did nothing wrong.

In never suggested that the theater pursue or payment or not.

How are you missing this? The theater is in no way responsible for the shootings Not liable. They did nothing wrong.

You are equally culpable in that neither of you is responsible.

I can probably empathize with the shooting victims far better than you assume.

Who told you that we are adequately compensated for our traumas? Where is that promised?

The financial status of the plantiff and defendant is irrelevant.

Neither you nor the theater are responsible. So I fail to see how the depths of your respective pockets is at all relevant.

If she wanted something other than cash, she in the wrong venue. And oddly far along in discussions about a cash settlement.

The corporation wasn’t at fault! They owed her nothing. Zero. Nada. Their hands are clean.

Her 11th hour refusal to sign the settlement meant that none of the victims received any compensation from the theatre AND they were on the hook for the theater’s legal fees.

What’s your point? That every critically injured victim of violence deserves to be made financially whole, regardless of legal liability?

I am far more likely to choke to death during a screening than I am to be shot.

I don’t think her “traveler protecting” tattoo worked. Refund.

Help me understand the problem here...

Yes. Absolutely.

$30,000 from a party that is not responsible for my loss? Sounds pretty generous to me.

In life, you have to play the hand that you are dealt.

The plantiff’s gave the cinema quite a few very good reasons to hire the most talented and experienced attorneys available. And that costs a lot of money.
