I think Microsoft would spend whatever they have to to upend Sony's lead a little bit. The console wars become bigger and bigger business with each reiteration. Stealing some games would be a great way to ruin their party, wouldn't you agree?

This is, of course, assuming it's timed. It would be a mighty middle finger from Microsoft if the Temple of Osiris is a parting gift for all the other consoles.

It's not really a loss for gamers. Exclusives are just how consoles work. The fact that there's always at least three competing consoles in the first place is in the exact same vein, a "great loss for gamers."
