Neat! These cars are so heavy, but they’re flexible as hell and are great at making the most of what they have. Amazing stuff.

Yep on the north side of the I-40 things look like they haven’t been fixed in a decade. The I-17 north/south is getting repaired, but the sections left behind remind me of a burn victim’s skin, the AZ 101 and 202 loops in Phoenix have both gotten way worse than I remember, and the I-10 is quite possibly a lost cause

Okay, I’ll bite.
I think Subaru keeping the EJ in the STI for so long was decent business sense, and the aging platform kept the STI trim alive.

Cayenne E-hybrid? How is the car, if I may ask?

I hate to admit this, but AZ roads used to be much nicer than CA roads simply due to the smaller amount of overhead. Nowadays the AZ stuff is starting to look a mess and driving is smoother on the CA stuff.

I’ve been on that Tortilla Flat road (called by locals Tortilla Flats so many times I’ve stopped bothering to count) about six dozen times now. A few of my friends know it better than the layout of their own homes blindfolded. It’s claimed quite a few victims in my day for its tricky curves and blind corners and it

hey man I came on here for straight up car talk not this disgusting smut

Toni I cannae for the life of me believe you are responding to comments here.... it’s a bold strategy, Cotton, let’s see if it pays off for ‘em

I read an intensely detailed Subaru WRX forum post about what AWD, Torsen diffs, and other mechanical distribution and locking details actually mean when applied to traction and torque applications. It was extremely illuminating and I have never been able to explain it to any other person (even car people) ever. I

Nice job, HHFP. Anyone who wants to argue about AWD/4WD whatever, this should be mandatory reading first.

“Super frustrating” is one of the more mild and gentle ways I would describe it, although it is totally apt.

I like the writeup, and I’m seeing the arguments I expected to see in the comments as well as some other comments that aren’t arguments (sure, they’re there.)

Reading about the treatment your mother received by that dealer boiled my blood. I’m glad she found restitution but the experience just seemed unbelievably horrible and I’m disgusted by what they did.

The point is that the vapor reclamation line gets full of fuel PRIOR to tank overflow. Since the nozzle isn’t at the lip of the fill line.

I used to work at a gas station - one of the corporate ones with lots of stations all over the US.

Which part of the exterior design is your least favorite area? I'm going to wait to see what the other trim levels do to try and redirect from the slightly funky rear.

YESSIR! BROKEN FINGERS DON’T BOTHER ME, I EAT WITH CURLY CHOPSTICKS

I grew up with 10 and 2 but by the time I started driving, steering wheel airbags were a mandated thing. 9 and 3 so they don't break your fingers in a crash.

So I am getting the vibe that a lot of Jalops didn’t like the square wheel? When I tried it out it seemed fine to me, but I’ve been a 3 and 9 o clock guy forever, and naturally adapted ok. I’m interested to hear if the steering was more globally in disfavour.
