I have an 8 speed auto with sport-oriented manual mode. One gearshift is lightning fast, but 4 gears down create a small delay per each shift after the first.

I’ve had the opportunity to drive a LC500 and Gen 2 NSX, which have 10 speed and 9 speed “auto actuation” transmissions. The LC500 was to the point where it was making the gear changes I wanted before I could, and I when I let the car do it itself it performed admirably in easy traffic.

CVTs have infinite / undefined gears and despite them being able to stay in the powerband people complain about how weird they feel. Assuming we keep reliability/maintenance out of it as a factor: (where manuals win)

Is the game, then, just sort of going from painting to painting without a specific objective? Is there an end game, is there a painting limit, or are there any patterns to influencing the reactions of the aliens? Feels pretty sandbox which isn’t a bad way of creating art.
