In June 2008 I was in Zimbabwe and bought 6 Billion Zim Dollars for 100 SA Rand ($13) and bought 12 beers for that. If they printed this Hundred Trillion note in the same year that inflation is unfathomable.

So did Electronic Arts (who had Studio 1, Studio 8 and Studio 32 graphics products around then).

Change to Medium or Large Font Display Size (Windows Display Control Panel) and also use zoom in on those few web pages with extra small type.

Geek Search does the same thing but with more sites (IMDB, Wikipedia, etc.).

@deciBels: In developing countries the thieves will even grab or slice a bag in between your feet. I always put a climbing caribiner (sp?) through the zippers to make it difficult to open and loop a strap around my leg so any tension on the bag will be immediately felt.

@knightvash: Agreed. Punch in the face, then tackle and aprehend for further mob justice.

The cops say: "he attempted to run off but tripped and faceplanted right there and then."

I have flown on a few hundred flights. I don't enjoy the security but can live with it and have noted it has gotten better that past 18 months or so.

@Platypus Man: They claim it is for the interference potential but really it is to remove distractions to facilitate crew communications in the event of an emergency (the highest risk of which is at takeoff/landing). I can live with it though I definitely cheat by turning on my device on the runway going in or out.

And I thought they were plenty powerful to take out a harvester and ore plant. If memory serves it took 2+ Ion Cannon blasts to take out another super weapon.

My bad. I meant C&C. I'm losing my memory in my old age...:)

Are these streams generated by the stations, or radiotime (based on the terrestrial broadcast)? I'm wondering if the live sporting events in these streams are blocked like the stations do with their web streams (to try to push people to pay for content).

I like the Global Defense Initiative version of the Ion Cannon from Red Alert better.

I'm sure GM, Chrysler and/or Ford had similar automotive inventions that could have completely disrupted that industry to change the face of transportation and hence were buried.

Ummm. I'm pretty sure Nation Out-Out is a different day. Today was supposed to be National Opt-Out Day, if I'm not mistaken.

@RiceBandit: And Scandanavian countries even longer (12+). I remember reading in Wired in the 90s how people there could buy a Coke and pay a Parking Meter and a bunch of other transactions using their cells but I never thought it would take more than a decade to make it here.

@nolimitsplayer: Supposedly VLC for iPad plays most video types. See recent LH article. Sadly it is not available for iPhone.
