Not only that, but a Fiat version of it can be yours today for just $3,200 (some work required):

He had a driver’s license (so he was able to drive a manual... at some point) but no car in the USSR. He had been trying to buy a blue 2102 wagon before we left. The GTI purchase was 7 years after leaving, so I’m sure his manual driving skills did not improve with time. In fact, the one and only time I’ve seen him

You had the wrong pastrami sandwich.  For future reference, the #19 at Langer’s is what you should have had.

If you liked those 90's photos, maybe you’ll appreciate these. Remember how I said I saved all the Photobuys/Autobuys I purchased? Well, here are some pics from those (both my 1996 car search and the 1998 search that resulted in the Mk3):

He didn’t buy the GTI.  He just wanted to get rid of the Stanza.  He ended up with a brand-new Maxima which was soon traded in for a brand-new Pathfinder.

Story time.

I’d like to know more about this. I actually walked around via Google Streetview in Iquique for a bit and there really are a lot of RHD JDM-spec cars.  Why is that?

If anyone is interested in one of these weird Minis, one has been for sale on LA’s Craigslist for months. Here’s the link:

This. Just walking around, you see unbelievable things. Some random things I saw:

Got to see it in person before it went up on the auction block. Here are my terrible pics.

I did indeed see you guys, lol. My friend’s relatives had a place there, so it was free. When I overstayed my welcome, I ended up in Nihonzutsumi/Taito, Tokyo. 2003-2004.

I wasn’t military :). Was just killing time between college and law school, living in Kamakura.

My guess is the motor isn’t working so well.  Thus the use of public transport.  Because you gotta to do what you gotta do :P.

Eh. 15 years ago (wow, time flies), I found a $20 Bride seat at an UpGarage in Tokyo and then dragged it on the subway at rush hour from the store to Tokyo Station, then on the JR Yokosuka Line line to Kamakura and then walked it through a temple and a cemetery as a shortcut.  I got a lot of dirty looks, but you gotta

I guess I’ll post my cheap Miata story, although it isn’t as good. In 2006, I was browsing Craigslist, looking for a hardtop for my Miata. I came across an ad that had no pics and was pretty barebones. Basically, “Miata with Supercharger for parts” and an asking price, $800. Now, I already had a GReddy turbo kit for

Aaaaand wouldn’t you know it:

Top speed runs and quarter mile races on Sesnon and up Tampa?
