@avclub-dc7008f6bd89036db2513d35ef4b537c:disqus , his problem (and one difference between his situation and yours) isn't just the media coverage, it's the astounding amount of money he has, the protective bubble and strings around him, the seeming lack of accountability for his actions. He's pretty much free at this

@avclub-454a7bfd685393329597fdb7a92b7969:disqus ,
yeah, I think it's from December or something, but I guess the Internet decided it should break out this week . . .

@avclub-87caf7c42aedbada42572e2374eed08d:disqus, well, I think you're misremembering things a bit . . . no doubt Nirvana blew open the "alternative" scene, but they didn't do the "carving out" - Alice in Chains's "Man in a Box" broke before Nirvana, and Jane's Addiction was also making waves pre-Nirvana. Soundgarden

It just kept getting better and better . . .

Sort of off topic to your post, but I love the one with the blackout just for Chandler in the ATM vestibule.

I think Chandler is quite intelligent, and fairly proud of it. But, unlike Ross, he tends to use it for snark (think of when he convinced Joey that his new stage name should be "Joe Stalin . . . or maybe Joseph Stalin") rather than in the enthusiastic way that Ross sports his intellect. They sort of dumb Chandler down

That's excellent (also Janice-related, right?). Also love Phoebe trying to seduce him to get him and Monica to confess . . .

And you know it! You just don't know you know it . . .

Yeah, and there's a pretty weird (but funny) ep in Season 2, when Monica's dating Richard (Tom Selleck) and while Monica and Rachel are in the bathroom arguing about who gets to use the last condom, Ross and Richard are in the living room making small talk. It's all very sitcommy and funny until you start to think

Chan and Jan 4ever!

Even if you don't know who he is (but I guess, not if you were a kid), it's nice to see a group of women talking about a man's sexy bits without it being shameful or sleazy or in some other way portrayed as nasty. I love when they're begging for him to drop the towel.

A lot of these early episodes are shown out of order . . . in the first Thanksgiving episode, which is coming up (um, Spoilers?), we'll get the Underdog balloon story that Monica tells on date night here.

Not sure how relevant it is, but Colin Higgins's first splash was writing Harold and Maude

Wasn't there a TV version for a while (yeah, I know, google is my friend . . .)

@avclub-3bca94e353e508c1a49bf984fc5c346d:disqus,

@avclub-7e72b5fe1ad8fd5b388a5260ba7c07fe:disqus, why yes it does. How did you guess?

@avclub-3bca94e353e508c1a49bf984fc5c346d:disqus,

Um, this guy totally disagrees with you:

That's no bowling ball . . . ?
