Just had this conversation (with myself, in my head) about the next car for my wife. With a kid and two dogs she feels the need for a stupid seven-seat SUV. Christ, how typical. I’m trying to talk her into a minivan, but no dice there. Stupid. She loves the CX-9. It’s handsome, well appointed, fun to drive. But man, I

I’m hearing from some mechanics that the 1.5l turbos are dialled up so high that when they go to do an oil change, they’re regularly finding significant amounts of fuel in the oil.  I’m thinking those engines are going to be very short lived.

My last two cars have had sunroofs and it surprised me how little I used them.

When you share a car with someone that is a foot shorter than you, you’ll appreciate the power seat with memory function.

This does not seem like a big deal. I guess some of it depends on how long it took for Honda to inform the workers.

Right? I can’t even travel on the same plane with more than three other managers from my company as part of their disaster plan. And I am nowhere near important to the company if something were to happen.

Well that’s a no brainer. No US president is going to be allowed to ride in an unarmored bus crammed with group of other world leaders. Don’t have to be Secret Service to figure that one out.

Hopefully it’s because people are done with the sarcastic, corrosive comment battles.

Sure, it’s a crossover cash grab, but they didn’t phone it in. It’s a mid-front V12, with performance platform to back that up.

Don’t forget about paying for DEF and the additional maintenance costs that come with a diesel. Unless you’re towing all of the time, I don’t see how it could cost less to run than a gas-powered truck.

um, 7.3????  why not just make that standard.

The tone of this entire article is disgusting.

depending on whether or not you choose the Z07 package (you will, duh).

+1 for no sunroof.

It is amazing the way corporations have managed to almost completely shift the responsibility for climate change from themselves to private individuals.

It just seems so misguided too.  Yes, I wish people chose more efficient means of transportation, but I also recognize that even if everyone chose the most efficient option available to them, that would still be pretty small beans in the grand scheme of things.

An utterly fantastic, big-brained way of winning people to your cause is to fuck with their private property.

Given just how basic entry level cars were in the 20's — basically a cart with an engine and a couple of lawn chairs — this all seems pretty reasonable.

They should do a trim with really nice front seats and vinyl rears that can be hosed out.

You’re probably right. It just seems like they are leaving money on the table by ignoring or half-assing a very lucrative segment.
