No offense, but underneath the supercharger, the engine in this Lotus is the same one in my kid-hauling Sienna.

Perhaps Xcel should cease its sponsorship deal with the hockey arena (why does a power company need to advertise anyways?) and use that money to build chargers?

This starts at $99,800.

It’s hard to think of competitors that offer this kind of driving engagement and performance for this kind of money

To be clear though, Dodge didn’t give refunds, they gave $15K vouchers that could be used on a future Viper purchase. Customers also didn’t sue to get them, FCA announced them with the price cut.

Nope, but the Ram HD does!

The truck you’re referring to came out 35 years ago and is 2wd; comparing to a modern 4x4 is disingenuous. Trucks had reached their current size by 20 years ago if not earlier.

I mean I agree in the sense that I think all “hot hatches/FWD performance” are pretty overrated by virtue of their cost cutting and cheapness, but until this latest generation of Mazdas I certainly didn’t think they were any better in that regard either.

Aluminum doesn’t rust, making it infinitely better than steel bodies for anyone living north of Florida or east of California.

The bedside height of a 2004 F150 is 22.3". Total height to bedrail is then 57.7".

1997 F150: 35.3" tailgate to ground on a 4x4.

The things that have been done to the F-150 in the last 20 years don’t make it a better truck

The Mazda 3 and 6.

an offroad SUV that’s too big, heavy, and inefficient to be at all relevant in the modern world

None of that explains why its range to battery size ratio is so much worse than its rivals.

It helps to have the irrational confidence of 17 year old males in groups, not to mention a few subzero nights.

For having fun, nothing beats a RWD truck (with nothing in the bed) and a frozen lake.

Weight wrecks efficiency in stop and go driving, much less so in steady state highway cruising.

How can a battery that large, in a car (presumably) that aerodynamic, provide such pitiful range?

Don’t forget to account for the 25-30% (or more) reduction in range when it gets cold outside too.
