Buy what makes sense for your situation, not what will impress Jalopnik commenters. Stinger is great and practical, but a Santa Fe costs about the same, doesn’t weigh much more (200-300lb), and will be way more practical + comfortable.

Right...you’ve found out why so many are purchasing SUVs these days. If you can only afford one or two cars, it makes sense that one of them is a “Jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none” type. And with the latest fuel-saving technologies, there’s hardly a fuel economy penalty, or at least not one that’s worth giving up

I’m not sure why it hasn’t occurred to these companies to just introduce EV versions of these cars.

Not to mention older folks, which represent a huge portion of new car buyers because, duh, they have no kids and 3 money, find it much easier on their backs and knees to get in and out of most CUVs than sedans. Not to mention that most sedans with similar space as CUVs tend to be longer by ~10 - 20 inches, which is

Let the other OEM’s crack their teeth on the technology, (which is almost completely outsourced anyway) make their mistakes, find their way through, while you come in later on the backs of other’s efforts. Being first is not always the smartest play, and

‘60s American boat, doesn’t have to be fancy like a Caddy or Lincoln, just big enough to fit 4 (or 5 or 6, bench seats), long, low and flashy. Take the gang to the beach or dinner in style.

Don’t recline your seat.

Given the F150 Raptor already exists and has been rated by the EPA. I don’t know why anyone is surprised about any of this.

It’s a reminder that trucks and SUV’s should be included in CAFE standards.”

The are included, but with a different goal. It’s why Ford has gone with all SUVs. This thing is balanced out by Ecosports and Escapes and Mach-Es. In this way Ford doesn’t get hit with a tax.
