Pretty wild with all the trucks these days that have markups and wait lists for months that the best GM can muster is “Here’s your Silverado with a mild lift kit and rolling on 33's”.

Presumably coming later. The Escalade is such a cash cow for GM that I don’t blame them for starting here and doing a pickup later down the road. The plan makes sense to get people talking about the super high-priced one, then give them something they can more reasonably afford later down the line once the interest is

Somehow I don’t think the people who are getting a $150k performance SUV are gonna really mind having to pay $150 bucks to fill this thing up.

Some (like this author) will look at these numbers and imply that these workers must be poor and that this isn’t a living wage and that GM (and other automakers) are ripping off Mexican workers. I would wager to guess that the prices of everything in Mexico are far lower than here and that a GM or other automotive

The root cause is that most trustworthy lenders won’t handle small loans at all and particularly for people who have zero collateral. The cost to even re-posses the car is greater than they are likely to make back and chances are the owner will stop paying if the car has another repair required - possibly one that

There is a way to make a butt-ton of hydrogen cheaply. But it will never actually be made...

Cadillac’s have never been immune to badge engineering to a degree. This Eldorado shared a platform with the Buick Riviera and Olds Toronado.

it still doesn’t quite sit right with me that today’s flagship Cadillac is the Escalade.

Not requiring a front license plate is the correct answer.

Sorry but I don’t get it, surely it’s the look of the license plate that ruins the front end, right? I don’t see how this wrap changes that. FWIW, I’ve never had a front plate on the 5 cars I’ve owned here in California. Most car people here consider it a $25 beauty tax if you get a front plate ticket.

Awful lot of whiny hot takes in this comment section.

hahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Do you type this out every time there’s an SUV article, or do you just copy/paste at this point?

I don’t have high hopes for this. I’ve been extremely pessimistic about VW in the US and even more recently, VW globally. They ruined the interior of their only class leading car here in the US (Golf R & GTI), their EVs are pretty uninspiring and outclassed by Ford/Kia/Hyundai/Tesla, the ID Buzz seems to lack van
