I gave up this site after years because the writing has gone so far downhill. Check it out again for the first time in weeks, and I’m treated to an article so meanspirited, so devoid of actual information on shipbuilding or yachts, and just dogging a guy with the laziest of personal attacks, that you got me

Watch out - this kind of comment gets you all sorts of shit on, in a Bezos thread.*

I mean you can make fun of the guy for having a “toy” like this but you know what? This project has employed hundreds of people in the hard hit marine sector and will continue to employee lots of people for the substantial on-going maintenance that will be required. Captains, engineers, all the other crew, the ports

Next time just tell us you’re jealous and save this thousand word travesty for someone you’re unsuccessfully trying to pick up at the bar.

That’s not how allocations work. Dealers are allocated cars before they’re even built (based on prior sales stats ((trim/model, etc)). That’s how socal receives a lot of 2WD trucks while the rest of the country probably barely get any. The allocated dealership is even printed on the Monroney sticker.

I currently have a Ford E350 with the 7.3 International engine torn most of the way down. It’ll be rebuilt and slightly upfitted with usual “Stage 1" mods to help reliability under boost. It previously was a testbed for a twin turbo install, and I tried my darndest to blow it up but it took 12 pounds of boost with all

Left lane squatting is, in fact, illegal in many places. It is difficult to enforce, but many states have “keep right except to pass” on the books. Pay attention on interstates, and you might see signs like this.

A Ford Transit 350 gets a 16mpg combined rating and it just as tall if not taller than this thing.

Using the left lane and not passing doesn’t break any laws?

Not defending the choice of these turds in any way but consider that these trucks are basically doing stop and go every 60-80 ft in an urban neighborhood and I can completely understand how the mileage is going to be complete crap. I expect that if you did this drive cycle in a Honda Fit you would get crap mileage as

I am a midwesterner and have a car on order. It could be we are patient because we don’t want to get fleeced paying huge market adjustments so we will wait. My new car is set to arrive hopefully by the end of February (ordered in December) and our signed contract price is below MSRP. I actually got 2 different

That quote made me lol too.

This. If anything I would have expected the Plains to be most patient. Highest proportion of farmers.

Of course it’s an Accord and of course it had NY plates.

the best take here so far, and I want to subscribe to your newsletter

Watch the longer version from the dash cam, the Accord tries to cut off the guy recording by passing on the right and attempting to squeeze into the space in front of him. The guy recording then backs off and the Accord immediately gets up the Raptor’s tail. Looks like the Accord was just driving like a complete

Uh, no. The Raptor driver was being a dick to the Accord driver, but wasn’t swerving in and out of lanes and making moves that were imminently dangerous to other drivers who were just minding their own business. The Raptor driver is guilty of being a dick, the Accord driver is guilty of driving incredibly recklessly,

I don’t care what the Raptor was doing, that guy in the Accord was begging for it.

Yeah, I didn’t understand the luxury truck thing until I bought a RAM 1500 Limited last year because I needed something to tow our 23' camper with and our SUV, while within specs for payload and towing capacity, wasn’t confidence inspiring when towing. I figured I’m going to drive this thing for 8-10 years, so I might

Erin’s going down the shitter too. Pretty much Torch, Tracy and Elizabeth
