We are on quite a run of sellers that appear to be under the influence of substances.

at the same time we should be curbing predatory lending practices via regulation and there’s a laundry list of ways we could do that“

So I’ll ask again, what is your solution for these buyers?

I’m sure all the poor people that I’m supposedly not taking into account with my comments will be able to use that very helpful advice.

So your advice to those people instead is what?

Locking in a very low interest rate over a long period of time (with corresponding low fixed payment) in an inflationary environment was in fact a very wise thing to do.

Soft, sofa like cushioned seats. Double points if velour.

To me, a luxury car implies minimal tradeoffs and until recharge times are comparable to gas cars, low range is absolutely a tradeoff.

I wouldn’t be able to stomach spending $60,000 on something with such a fundamental limitation as “needs to stop for 30 minutes every 2-3 hours on road trips”, but I guess no one here drives anywhere far from home.

By all means, buy it if it makes sense to you.

Like 1% of people need more than 230 miles in a single go and that is probably really generous.

I actually kind of like the looks, but I can’t comprehend the idea of trying to sell a sub 250 mile range vehicle for luxury car money in 2022.

Call it whatever you want, just let me buy it!

Challengers with big V8s are cheap?

The Chevy Nova SS396.

So don’t buy one? Seems simple to me.

This legitimately informative post only begs the question of why GM didn’t plan ahead to allow the platform more flexibility back when it was designed.

In my experience it wasn’t so much the desire, but the realities of life. The use case simply isn’t there in Europe like it is here.

When I lived in Europe small pickups were reasonably common (think VW Amarok) but large pickups were very much luxury items. The only ones I saw were specialty models like the Raptor or Ram SRT-10, which had surely been imported at ridiculous prices.

That is probably how GM’s reps would phrase it, but the AT4 is a mild package like the Ram Rebel or Ford Tremor, and the Bison/ZR2, while capable, doesn’t have the sport cred of the Raptor or TRX. I think they would sell a ton of Silverado SS models in addition to the ZR2, and could have been selling them at a huge
