Personally I’m not confused or turned-off by the open world aspect of the gameplay like the dev seems to think. When I am criticizing it and using comparisons like BotW negatively its because the actual open world environment seems so bland and generic. It looks like it could be an open environment for any game, not

100% agree. That gives me such a nice warm nostalgia feeling from my years of playing the Mario & Luigi series. Combat, puzzles, overworld travelling. Hope it can have the same charming dialogue M&L had.

That would be fun. Give you a roster of 4 or 5 characters that you can pick from for each mission, but if you fail (probably at specific points like boss fights or a specific type of event) you can just let that character be dead and you have to finish the mission with a different member and the dead one is off your

To say nothing of the people who will harass her and her family for years to come claiming she is some kind of crisis actor, a government plant, or just because she dares speak out on this at all.

Unique in that it was a mix of a lot of different things from other games that ended up working pretty well together. Yes its most common comparison is a 2D Dark Souls, but the game also has strong platforming and exploration aspects like a Metroidvania, and for levelling it uses a sphere grid instead of just stat

The art design got a lot better later in the game where you fought more monsters and giant bosses and less weird looking humans.

Oh just gross to me as a longtime comics fan. Not that it was gross in the game itself. In universe for Arkham their pairing seems like a good fit. But just so different than the relationship I’ve always seen them in it was so offputting to me. Probably also because we didn’t get to spend much time with Tim across the

Ah makes sense then. I’m in the same boat as you where I’m worried the gameplay loop will be too much like AK because I also did not find all the batmobile stuff very fun. In fact so many games have given us nice big maps that just being allowed to explore one via gliding and/or a vehicle isn’t much of a selling point

I’m not sure if this game’s Robin is Tim or Damien, actually. I was just pointing out that Gotham Knight doesn’t seem like it is following the story from the Arkham trilogy that had Tim Drake (Robin in those game) be in a romantic relationship with Barbara that lead to them getting married.

It is never going to live up to those games because it isn’t actually trying to. They’re just using marketing materials to muddy the waters about it. WB Montreal has said they’re making it a new story with new versions of the characters. So this Red Hood won’t have been the Arkham Knight and this Tim Drake hopefully

It is impressive how often this site keeps claiming this is a follow up to Arkham Knight. It isn’t.

Which is sad because Spirits Within was a big deal in the FC world. The tech behind it was taught in classes for a long time and basically every VFX designer I know has seen the movie and every tech breakdown out there for it a dozen times.

The fact we don’t have more and bigger Deus Ex and at least one big 3D Shadowrun game just shows we’ve gotten the shittiest dystopian future.

Yeah for once this segment is dead on. Those fuckers are horrible. They somehow manage to always be perfectly covering one another too, so it makes it incredibly hard to sneak up on them because they’ve always got an overwatch nearby ready to fuck you up.

If it helps you get excited the first game, Returns, is a psuedo-sequel of the SNES one. You make your own char and the mechanics are closer to some of the tabletop versions, but it happens in the same part of Seattle as the SNES one just a little while after and more than a few characters show back up.

The enemies in the video are not that unique to the region, they’re just more common there. You’ve probably already encountered them before even getting inside the academy. They’re also not even close to the most annoying thing in that area. If you’re melee you can get close and destroy them with ease, if you’ve got

I thought no one would ever top Ron Pearlman, but making Tudyk’s “this guy was totally one of those high school theater kids” Clayface was amazing.

Seriously, you can blend it with mech game and make customizing loadouts part of the gameplay loop. Would be easy to really make you “feel” like Iron Man with building and tweaking your suit. You wouldn’t have to go as deep as like an Armored Core game where you’re spending hours balancing your engine’s calorific
