As of now, this is the sole best take in the comments. Seems like everybody else forgot that this video game event is first and foremost a charity fundraiser - good on you, Nixxi! I’ll sling some bucks their way as well.

Ah, I like the beep. It lets me know if my cat has stepped on my controller and woken the system from sleep mode, which I might have otherwise missed with the TV off. I can’t say I’d have a pile of nickels for all the times it’s happened...but it’s not zero, that’s for sure.

THAT is exactly what I needed - I somehow missed it when I first set up the PS5 and had resigned myself to just endure it instead. Thank you!

Here’s hoping they can move on to another update: being able to mute the background “music” on the Home screen.

More accessibility/difficulty options in a game is always a good thing. There’s no reason I can see (other than an appeal to the tryhards) that a “director’s vision” experience cannot coexist with options, sliders, and whatnot that make the game’s content available to the vast majority of your customer base.

I am the target audience for this.

The thought that Lopunny wouldn’t come up in this discussion is what a fool believes.

I was astonished to discover that you are 100% correct on this.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only person who found the conclusion of this story arc to be underwhelming. Although I guess that shouldn’t be a big surprise considering it was essentially “oh hey he’s just back somehow & he’s sleepy”

I ain’t watching that.

I believe the Power Thirst-approved term for that is PREPOSTERONE.

Greetings from the future, where the pilot was finally found and reported on by Kotaku.

Regardless of quality, this is important from a media preservation and cultural history standpoint. I can’t wait to watch it, even knowing that it will be hot garbage.

Yes indeed.

I loved describing this game to one of my non-gamer friends.

This reads like one of the older, more high-effort Kotaku articles. It’s well written and engaging and has an emotional anchor to the author. I don’t really care about Elden Ring but I enjoyed this immensely.

I’m finding that my experience with updates in rest mode are not necessarily typical of other folks with PS4/PS5s. I guess I’ve been fortunate.

It took me a minute to realize what was different, but I think that’s the mark of a well-designed mod.
