Yeah I mean at this point I assume PG&E’s equity will get wiped out, either in this bankruptcy or after the next wave of wildfires.

I mean, there are a lot of people talking about how PG&E is shitty, and while they’re not wrong, I also assume they don’t have even the foggiest notion as to why that’s true or how it’s a tiny portion of the picture and ultimately California is going to keep having gigantic problems with this. Keeping up with cutting

Hell, about a decade ago I would have said I would have liked to have similar conversations with Trump. Everyone who wasn’t an idiot knew he was basically a putz but even then he was a font of nutty things. I could totally picture baiting him into making a massively long winded argument about how a casino in Midtown

Ever since he held a preseason press conference a few years back and literally said “We’re trying to get back to the glory hole days” I’ve had an irrational desire to be friends with Jerry Jones because I just want to have conversations with him and get him to say wacky things.

I’m just sort of perplexed that she tried to defend it.

It does sound weird but I’ve seen it in a number of executive offices and as best I can tell it’s one of those dumb “perk” type things you can add if you are deemed important enough to get a decorating budget for your office at a business.

There’s already multiple cases structured to get that in front of the SCOTUS and you know full well that’s going to get tossed on it’s ear by a court where the guy who wrote the initial ruling against the CFPB is a member of the majority. The independent director concept died the second the PHH Mortgage ruling was

I mean, in this particular case, he’s not wrong, though I won’t promote him either.

A few things are true about Elizabeth Warren. She has a long history of expertise in financial regulation

Gosh it’s almost like we the American people should start demanding potential Presidential candidates add a “reduce the power of the executive branch” plank to their platform.

Jeb had nine figures behind him but ultimately it didn’t matter. Bernie’s fundraising totals pre-date him having a heart attack, and that’s with him already struggling to keep up with Warren in the polls.

Maybe we have a primary, but I’m still holding out hope that by the time we get to Iowa both Biden & Sanders will have fallen way behind Warren. Jeb! had plenty of financial prospects to keep campaigning had he wanted to but there was simply no point.

Can you imagine what would happen to communist party officials who opposed party leadership in Beijing as fiercely as Netanyahu’s opponents currently are?

I mean, it follows. Tankies gonna tank.

I mean, Bernie Sanders himself would vote for Warren or Biden. So would Hamilton, according to this post.

Again, we’re talking about a situation at the point of a contested convention where your principles can’t be applied. Period. So you make the least worst choice you can.

It’s not about what you owe the Democratic party dumbass it’s about preventing Trump from staying in power for the good of those who suffer most while he’s in office making decisions to use the executive branch in ways that none of the Democratic candidates would, not even Joe Biden.

Carlson used to have a better grasp of the facts than Sean Hannity or Alex Jones but nativism rots your brain.

The context we’re discussing is one where any “principles” a person has have to be subordinated to the reality that having a clear winner of the Democratic primary is almost certainly a better outcome for America than a contested convention. Basically it’s a situation where you say “fuck principles”.

I posed a simple statement. Many of the loudest socialist voices supporting Bernie Sanders won’t vote for Warren or Biden if they win the primary, and will in fact raise all manner of hell even if it appears Bernie has no meaningful chance of winning.
