Political pull was probably all that it took, honestly. I'd be willing to bet that they would have done it even if they wouldn't be covered. Think of the kind of economic benefits that this area is going to see when F1 shows up in force for the race. It's kind of a no-brainer to get as much publicity as possible

Do you seriously live close enough to the track to see it well enough from your roof?

My wife lived in Napoli when they first passed that helmet law. She said she'd never seen so many well-protected elbows on the roads in her life.

The traffic in Naples, Florida is nearly as dangerous. It is, however, an entirely different kind of peril. Take my word for it.

Some men just want to watch Tesla burn...

Once more for the road...

I don't think that's battle damage, I think it's just light being reflected at the camera.

I'll never look at the banner image the same after seeing this version.

Maybe comics Tony but I'm not so sure about movies Tony.

That's a fair point, as none of them look battle-damaged at all.

Maybe because you're the only one who sees it.

*HERE BE SPOILERS*

Have you seen any of the special features from Iron Man or Iron Man 2? They didn't use practical effects for the whole suit. Sometimes they'd just have him in a torso, sometimes he wasn't wearing gloves, etc, and they just used CGI to fill in the pieces that weren't filmed live.

You kind of missed the point of my bringing it up. I was just pointing out that there are probably a ton of theories/stories/rumors about why it was changed back and forth.

Indeed. Personally I don't care what shape it is so long as it's a case of form following function (or at least plausibly so) as it has thus far in the movies. The beauty of the Iron Man armor in the movies is that the "movie people" who want more toys to sell and different visual effects and flashier crap to keep

Yep.

What are you seeing that I'm not...?

...and I read something about how Joss Whedon preferred the look of the older-school circle element which is why they switched back to it during Avengers.

The Mark II totally saw combat! It was even accompanied by a phat beat!

Where oh where can I get high-res versions of those Avengers art pictures??
