More than 3 years since its reveal, we haven’t had a single well-running ue5 game or demo, on console or PC. Looks like a stinker of an engine

That’s true. But it doesn’t stop it from sucking.

It was called Gods and Monsters originally, but they were forced to change it because of fucking Monster Energy of all things. Still, the name they landed on was pretty bad.

This gives me Alto’s Odyssey vibes too and I’m here for it.

Is this sarcasm?

$100 seems unrealistic. This isn’t a console they can sell at a loss because it will sell games. I looked and it seems Sony sells their controller for $70. This also requires a decent screen and a much bigger battery.

Of all the things Sony could take inspiration from Nintendo, it had to be a feature from one of the latter’s most underperforming consoles.

> Yeah, needing to dock the switch isn’t a huge deal... But it’s just enough friction to make a very different experience.

Well, after they strangled both PSP and Vita in the crib with their lack of support, I guess it’s good to see that Sony finally realizes they don’t have the attention span to support another handheld that needs unique content.

Meanwhile, Microsoft let you do this with devices you already own like Laptops, Tablets and phones...

Calling it now. This will do worse than Playstation TV, at least that had some worth it it. Everyone has a phone, they don’t need this at all.

This handheld is obnoxiously stupid and unnecessary. As others have mentioned, they should be focusing more on making the existing Remote Play experience smoother and more reliable. I have incredible internet service and my PS5 is connected via Ethernet and Remote Play can be spotty even when I’m in a location with

Steam Remote Play runs games on your home pc and streams them to anywhere with a network connection, and retains very playable latency while doing so.

Brace yourself and check out Nintendo’s latest console. I think it’ll make your day.

I mean... Nintendo moved on from doing this with the Wii U (which was a failure) to actually having it be standalone with the Switch (which is literally the second best selling console of all time).

Right? If it’s streaming only and only within your own house, I guess that’s at best situationally useful? But I can’t see that this succeeds at all.

To another users point, it might be worth picking one up when it fails and the price drops out the bottom.

I’m irrationally excited about this, because it might mean I can return to the Wii U days where I could instantly switch between TV and portable.

No. It is the Sony version of the Wii U’s Gamepad

So, its a Sony Steam Deck.
