I just want them to release fucking Bloodborne on PC ;_;

Sony commits to not releasing any PC port until 5 months before they’re ready.
If he just said “Our aim is to be as profitable as possible and this is our best course” it would at least be logical. But man alive, is it a weird explanation to go “But the gamers WANT pc ports to be delayed by years, so obviously we have to give them what THEY want”. Like dude, you’re not fooling anyone... just be…
There’s no need to delay ports. Just give them sufficient resources during development. That’s how multiplatform development works. The TLOU port didn’t need more time. It just needed more programmers and more QA.
What’s so surprising about this? Sony wants to cultivate its platform first and foremost; of course they’re going to prioritize their console. Microsoft also has a *massive* stake on personal computers, so simultaneous releases make perfect sense for them.
I do love the Gamer(tm) urge to make anyone with different preferences out to be a Lesser Gamer as opposed to people just, y’know, liking different things.
I should’ve clarified, I’ve always been more of a 2d Metroid person. I never really vibed with the Prime games and those are the ones I want shaken up. Dread was great. I’d also like a 3d version of Dread if that’s in the cards.
I agree that no quest log and FromSoft combat would be bad for Zelda, but it sounds like your sort of using your own view of FromSoft games irrespective of how I described them. That’s why I noted wordbuilding and lore.
This is the first time I’ve ever played a Zelda game at launch because I’ve always been more of a Metroid person than a Zelda person, and to be honest I’m loving every second of this stuff and hope that BOTW is a template for Metroid Prime 4 as well.
Botw sold more copies than every other previous entry combined. Of course its going to be the new format going forward. Get used to durability, nerds.
As much as I loved Elden Ring I really don’t want to see the “no quest log” things brought to Zelda. I don’t mind exploring and discovering on my own but Elden Rings vagueness is on a whole other level. I get this is a FromSoft thing but I really don’t want to see that in more games
That also ignores that the Switch got to HD remakes of old games since BOTW
Well, everyone literally thinks that you figuratively need to literally figure a literal figure, that’s literate, laterally later today at the lit light rally!
“But in some ways, that was a little bit restricting for us.”
yo, Aonuma, listen to what you just said. Sticking to a single formula is restricting. Just shake it up every so often.
I like the rhythm of: Main game that does something different, followed by a sequel that can do crazy things because it doesn’t have to do…
I’m always amused by how for decades everyone was complaining that Nintendo’s games should go open world, and then when they finally did, everyone now wants them to go back because the industry has been flooded with mediocre open world games and people find they miss the more linear, curated experiences of Nintendo’s…
As a BotW enjoyer, i am okay this. And Nintendo is really just following the money here, they would be crazy not to continue this direction. TotK is selling faster than BotW and that was the best selling Zelda game at the time.
Yeah, this is my take.
Great point - especially considering that with some games on PC it’s possible to burn through a good portion of the 2 hour return window simply getting the game settings dialed in so that you can determine if you like it.
“Nintendo’s own Famitsu”?
