It comes from sounding interesting but it has no basis in fact. Almost anything liberal that Nixon did was because of a very powerful Democratic majority in the legislature. People don’t seem to know that.

Yeah, it’s almost a token amount to begin with. But the way I hear everyone talk about now, there’s almost no way to compensate them otherwise. I’m guessing it’s an unintended consequence.

Not that this is great, but isn’t this also because more people are moving from the middle class into the upper class?

It’s not exactly a huge thing but part of Dodd Frank seems to outlaw compensating Title Closers. I don’t really understand that purpose of doing that but it’s there.

Sanders’ national favorability hasn’t been polled in half a year but it was steadily falling the last time it was.

Those debates were scheduled before Sanders even entered the race. Also, Clinton did well in the debates.

Y’all are aware that Cuomo won his last primary by 30+ points and that he currently has a 47 point lead on Nixon in the polls, right?

Joe Manchin, the most conservative Democrat with a long enough record to judge has a Progressive Punch score of 56. Susan Collins, the most liberal Republican by a wide margin has a score of 26.24.

Open primaries are absurd.

The party was not unified in its support of Lipinski. And he’s the freaking incumbent, so that’s amazing.

Because voters aren’t as liberal as people around here think. And because liberal people are less likely to vote in general than conservative people.

Lipinksi has a progressive punch score of 57. The most liberal Republican house member has one of 19. That’s a big difference. Furthermore, if the people of his district wanted a more liberal candidate, why didn’t they vote for one?

Whitehouse and Reed are both very liberal.

I haven’t heard about COINTELPRO since college (where this one guy would not shut up about it). That really takes me back.
