Albertan here. People have guns, sure, but NEVER in public. Generally only for hunting and the range. There are strict regulations regarding the use, transport and storage of both firearms and ammunition. I have personally lived in one of Edmonton’s “scariest” neighborhoods and never saw a gun. It’s not Texas north…

Anecdote: my mom considered leaving my dad when I was 3 and my little sister was under 6 months because my dad was an abusive alcoholic. She stayed until I was 16 because she didn’t think her wage was enough to support the 3 of us. Spoiler alert: my sister and I are still dealing with the fallout of abuse 15 years…

That guy is so obnoxious. I don’t ever willingly watch videos of people being killed or hurt and I accomplish this by not watching cable and never clicking on videos. I even quickly scroll past pictures of death and so I rely on commenters like you to interpret these things for me.

Are you in lower mainland BC? I’m in Alberta so I am concerned about how well some of the plants will grow since elevation, latitude, sun/shade, precipitation, and temperature are all quite different here.

I completely agree. During my second pregnancy I would share half a beer with my husband after some dinners as a relaxation ritual and it was really nice. I still missed wine but I couldn’t have any since I would get buzzed after about 3oz.
