It is really is amazing as a game machine.
It’s really interesting seeing creative types come to grips with generative AI and learning algorithms and their output. It’s the impact of open source images.
I just had to say this
“The Crows Perch in Velen, a notorious fast-travel pain point early in the game, still remains bewilderingly outside the Bloody Baron’s fort.”
“that I shamed attendees into dressing better”
I saw nothing. There was lag the whole time for me because I tried watching on steam for the steam deck giveaway.
Lol the random kid who snuck in with the ER team.
The thing that everyone never factor into the equation, is that while, yes, games are costing more to make (duh), your average AAA game these days has a potential pool of buyers that is just insanely bigger than what it was in the NES and SNES days.
The main problem is that games are now $70 AND buggy as hell on launch. Why should people pay that much for a game that doesn’t work, when they can wait a couple of months and get it cheaper and in better working order?
I believe it’s called “business casual” and is pretty common in tech-related industries. I do agree that it’s a silly half-measure but the reason it exists is because of the archaic idea that you need to dress formally for anything business-related.
True, but just because they don’t doesn’t mean they shouldn’t.
Yeah, but it’s also kindof tone deaf when you’re complaining about Developers, ignoring worker rights, serious inequality of pay, etc. and also saying “Hey, these guys should be wearing tuxedos at their awards gala!”
Right? The hate that people have for how these guys dress is hilarious.
Yep, out of all the current issues with the industry, game execs and designers not wearing enough couture is definitely pressing.
Yes, how dare they... not dress fashionably enough?
Lol at “Disney BS”. It’s literally continuing directly from Lucas’s example. Did Luke or Han ever wipe Threepio or R2 despite them constantly bickering or disobeying orders? No. Because they’re characters and the audience would have hated that. Making droids as logical and straightforward as a Roomba means literally…
Droids are canonically known to develop personalities when left to function long enough without a memory wipe
So... ten less levels into the BP? Well that fixes nothing. This game really has become a joke. Can’t think of a less interesting Blizzard project since WC3: Refunded! Sad! I miss Jeff Kaplan :(
That’s like saying we shouldn’t treat Unforgiven (or even maybe The Searchers or High Noon) as a Western, though, because it’s also critical commentary on Westerns.
