I would rather just have specific goals to work towards to unlock skins like we used to and not have to worry about random chance

Can this article be more clickbait?!

I’m sorry, but a writer for a major gaming website claiming Sony’s service is better for consumers because it has less day-one exclusives is way more spurious.

Unlike Microsoft, Sony has committed to not putting its newest releases on the service day-and-date, and if Returnal arriving a year after release is any indication, it seems like a good bet that players will have to wait at least a year to 18 months before newer stuff appears.”

And yet, you pick Sony over Microsoft

I guess I’m kind of blown away by people seeing almost entirely a collection of last-gen games as a win. I currently have both Gamepass and PS+ (the middle one), and while PS+ has been “worth it” for Stray and Demon’s Souls Remastered, I don’t really know what I’ll play after that. That’s not entirely true, I would

Gencon is still doing things right

The catch, and the point that people here are trying to make, is that it’s not actually “fully realized” yet. You can’t beat it because there isn’t actually an ending in game to any of the story arcs.

Then why is the author pitching it as a legit series entry in octopath traveler? The article already felt like an ad for the game but now it’s not even an actual coherent game?

Yes, this is 100% the case.

Seems like you’re getting pretty worked up over some internet comments and being pedantic, maybe you've interneted enough for the day

“don’t pull some bullshit about “looking outside your own perspective”

There was a beholder, which they snuck by after throwing a rock to distract it...

Fair.

Everyone’s experience in the game is different.  What makes someone’s experience more important than the rest?  The one throughline for almost every campaign is the fun, and the movie looks fun to me.

I have two issue

Study your film history. Formula has always been with us. Not saying it’s a good thing, just that it’s definitively nothing new.

No mass audience saw that movie, so stealing its plot is inconsequential

D&D is hot right now, largely because queer roleplayers have made it shine”

Look I’d love if we queers could take credit for this but dude that’s an interesting choice for planting a flag. That you skip over Stranger Things is weird, which (along with Critical Role, which you mention) I feel did a LOT more to bring it

You might be wondering, even if you’re a long-time D&D fan and roleplayer like myself: why does this movie exist?”

“I didn’t mean to mislead anyone.”
