I’d say that Everything Everywhere... is a counterpoint to this, but even there, it wasn’t a megahit and mostly profitable because it had a smaller budget (and even as original as it was, it apparently leaned into comic-y action sequences). This is why I hate the ballooning of film budgets. It leaves no room for

Big Movies aren’t for “the fans”, they’re for a mass audience. The people who have no idea wtf “Critical Role” is. Same with any other licensed film. They’re not trying to bring “the hobby” on to the screen, just tell a fantasy story & sell tickets.

Arguably, we’ve already had the “perfect” D&D movie thanks to Peter Jackson’s adaptations of The Lord Of The Rings in the 2000s—which, if I’m being honest, do chart a bit too close to “action movie” for my taste”

I get the point you’re trying to make, but this ain’t it chief.

Especially since all their games (arguably not Sekiro) already have easy modes built into them

I’ll start this by saying that anyone is free to feel insulted by whatever they feel insulted by. But I - an Asian-American living in a third world country - really think this criticism is stretching a bit.

Yet this site name is Kotaku. If there is a sense of irony about “appropriation” being ignored here... *shrugged*

No. lol, The sold tomb raider specifically so they could invest into NFT gaming. They already confirmed it when they sold tomb raider and half of there SE games.

People actually making money hand over first don’t get irrationally defensive of their money making methods because people are skeptical. That’s because that’s just more money for them.

You’d think for someone as smug as you that you’d realize that hashtags are sometimes just used for snarkiness and sarcasm. That level of social and conversational ignorance does track with your uninformed attitude towards, well, everything.

Are people still paying attention to this guy? Did everyone just ignore when he broke the law by filming inside a bathroom at E3?
Oh well..

You can be addicted to something without actually liking it.

On Quora Japanese, anime director and key animator Hiroyuki Kitakubo is a frequent writer. he worked on Macross: Do You Remember Love, and he talked about animating this specific scene’s missiles.

This just makes me sad.  This is how we get this style of game... forever.  Predatory, micro-transaction filled trash.  Put in minimal effort to make a game, stuff it full of this garbage and you hit it big.  It’s kind of like how every time someone buys a console from a scalper they just reinforce that behaviour.

I’m gonna let you in on a little secret.

There’s kinda no short answer to your question but if I would hazard a guess I’d say he’s defending the game in its present state from people like you. Allow me to explain.

It’s really not complicated. At the start, legendary gems aren’t needed. As you play the game, and need a higher Combat Rating, they become necessary - and that includes all endgame content, not just being competitive in PvP. You’re literally gated from entering higher difficulty content if your Combat Rating isn’t

Can y’all maybe not shit on 76 every chance you get?

Necessary? No...not initially, at least.

Yeah, it’s safe to say this is jusssssst a bit predatory...
