I feel like the show minimizes the prestige of a conference victory enough that any fame and popularity wouldn’t necessarily translate into another region. I mean, we never hear about the winners after the fact. I don’t know that we’ve seen it implied that fortune would come with the win, not that that would change…
The only way I’d do a Nuzlocke run is by boxing any fainted Pokémon for the duration of the run as opposed to releasing it. The same challenge effect remains without so much of the emotional loss.

This will make a whole lot of sense when you take a moment to consider why the show exists: to promote a brand to as many people as possible, a demographic that includes children who are aging in every year.
