Agree 100%.

I had no idea the extent of this, I’m in awe now that I’m in front of a computer and can read other responses with more detail. I thought this was a few old racist blog posts someone found, hence my confusion initially about “exactly how current/relevant is this?” But I get it more now. I don’t think there’s anything

Someone who contributes to groupthink said when she first became a contributor Pinkham apparently took umbrage with one of her posts and left her a crap ton of crazy messages. The kicker is he apparently knew what he was doing since he kept on sending the messages on a dismissed thread so that she and only she could

I didn’t.

The thing is this.

And, with that, I’m impressed any woman EVER goes to the authorities. Why? So she can get humiliated? I’ve know many, many women who have been raped. I don’t know a single one who has ever gone to the cops about it. I certainly haven’t (and I’m not sorry).

My daughter was gang-raped at her school last year and I’ll take every opportunity to tell parents:

Clearly officers would be safer if they didn't have a weapon for the public to lunge at.

She’s right, though. I sprung fully-grown from my father’s forehead at about age 25. #Athena

Yeah, as a teacher I’m reading this principal’s comments a little differently.

They all have this look about them. Conservatives, especially of the bigoted variety, all have this signature look.

One time I took Advil and became the Son of Sam.

I gotta disagree with you — no one who is stupid enough to be offended by this actually rocks. I deny them their rock-status.

This is going to be a strong sentiment but here goes.

“She’s darkening her skin but it looks more like purple to me so it must not mean anything bad?!?!?!?!” - Every idiot here

First of all I’m trivializing nothing. I am mentioning the very real phenomena of phenotypes that are linked to blackness in this country only being considered acceptable when a white person is wearing them. That is not trivial it’s real, and it’s a serious problem.

It’s more along the lines of, as a white person, I personally do not want to speak for other people I don’t represent. That’s white privilege at its worst.

The point is not “I’m unqualified” but rather “I have an opinion but I also am prepared to defer to the judgment of people who have the first-person lived experience.”

Yes white people she's a robot. That's the look she was going for.
