I agree. I detailed a friend’s Marauder and it had a decent exhaust note but no go. But the black paint buffed out nice...

If I wanted to go cross-country in reliable air-conditioned comfort, I'd get one of these with the magnetohydrodynamic suspension. Done.
Always liked these for some stupid reason...
Which is why I think this one belongs to a certain new Top Gear presenter who is known to have a large collection of white Ferraris.
Not to worry! I have you there.
I am a child of the 80s so I fell in love with the YJ because of two things. The first being McGyver and his YJ (don’t judge me). The second was the 90s era Renegade with the big square fenders. It looked bad ass to me as an impressionable 11 year old in 92.
I always think of “Hello Kitty” when I look at those.
Yeah Wrongler is new for me as well. We always called it the Yuppie Jeep. They really aren’t bad and had some better features then the CJ they replaced. Wider leaf springs and a tub that had galvanized metal. Still rusted but not as fast. I even put a YJ tub on my CJ but kept the round headlight grill! (I didn’t want…
Are you now? 😊
I agree 100% on the interior. I love my TJ but hate the lumpy plastic dash. I would trade for the metal flat panel from the YJ in a heartbeat.
“Wrongler.”
And given that you can buy a TJ with coil springs for about the same price, nobody wants a leaf-sprung square face.
“Didn’t help me!”
Thanks for clearing that up. You learn something new everyday.
I must not be getting the funnies in the posted text messages... With that said, I love this model of Jeep, is it considered an outcast or something? Why are the “square-faced” jeeps unloved. I’ve got room in the garage and would gladly love one. *Not a Jeep fan boy as you can probably tell by my lack of knowledge on…
Thanks! That’s both very cool, and very cool of you :)
As soon as I move to a city with an actual library, I’ll check it out. <— see what I did there
If you have access to a public library bean-counting philistines haven’t killed with a thousand budget cuts (or completely destroyed), enjoy it while you can. It’s a battle being lost on a depressing number of fronts.
I hate you for writing this summary, because now I’m going to have to buy this book and I don’t have the cash.
Hey, congrats to all the participants in the thread, there was some solid gold in there. Also, I would like to dedicate this COTD to Mate Petrany and the Budapest team — best of luck in their next endeavors, whatever those may be.
