Ugh. I thought this was an article only to find out it’s a video. Pass.

Oh, 100%, no arguments there. But as someone who grew up in Toronto, a lot of the suburbs — inner or outer — are actually “rougher” (I use quotation marks because that’s usually a euphemism for non-white or non-model minority) than the so-called inner city.
Hey now, he lived in a basement apartment probably 20 minutes by subway from the Toronto equivalent of Times Square.
I mean, he grew up in Toronto, near a subway station and everything, as far as I understand. Did he live in the core? No. But he’s from the Toronto equivalent of Brooklyn or Queens, depending on who you ask.
It shouldn’t be, but it is AFAIK. The original poster is only correcting the author, not necessarily agreeing with her.
In the world, not just North America. Easily top 3.
No, but this is a website for “pop culture obsessives” — at least that was their old tagline — not Jalopnik. And I would argue that TIFF is arguably more famous than NAIAS, which probably isn’t well-known outside the U.S. or to non-car fans (people who only see cars as a vehicle to get them from A to B).
I’m my worried about this happening at Apple. I rely way too much on the cloud.
Sorry, ignore the gazillion typos. I’m exhausted.

It’s one of the top three film festivals in the world (the other two being Cannes and Sundance), and some other would argue the most important of the three of them (depending on how you define important).
If he personally dislikes abortion but supports full bodily autonomy…he’s pro-choice. That’s what pro-choice is. But he won’t call himself that, which I have seen more than once in my own life.
So you don’t know any Black people. Cool.
If you had to Google what TIFF was, you’re probably not the right audience for this site, however watered down it may be now.
Everyone, go hug your mom.
I get your point, but I believe this writer — and I don’t live in New York and I’ve never seen Berlant live.
Isn’t that part of the point, though? It’s the same joke over and over while Black people keep having to see the same upsetting imagery.
