It drives me crazy how discussions around fertility always seem to centre women and our choices, whether personal or financial, without taking into account the male half of the equation and how that’s often the biggest factor.

Yup. I remember a man a year older than me congratulating me on bypassing his filter for women around his own age — apparently I was just hot enough/not too clingy to make the cut. Also ended in epic failure.

Again, not the point! Commenting on his behaviour, not hers.

Did I suggest they didn’t? It still doesn’t change Clooney’s sketchy dating history or how the media framed their pairing as some kind of massive victory for women.

Yes, because twentysomethings should totally be navigating their parents’ elder care, amirite?

Right? I mean, I do think he’s hot, but like a hot dad.

I shouldn’t even respond to this, but see my other comment on this issue. My comment isn’t about her, it’s about *him*:

To the troll I just dismissed who made it about his girlfriend and her agency as a 32-year-old woman: no one is suggesting she is a child who doesn’t know any better. We are simply commenting on the phenomenon of men hooking up with significantly younger women, often right after longterm relationships with women their

Yup. This hits a nerve with me, as it reminds me of online dating in my mid-thirties before I met the now-father of my child (who happens to be four years my junior, as most of the men my own age at the time already seemed to be freaking out and pursuing 25-year-olds).

Yay! Another actor hooks up with a woman almost 20 years his junior!

Gone with the Wind is the worst. My sister loved it, would watch it every time it came on tv (I was more of a Sound of Music/Ten Commandments sort of kid) but even as a Canadian child, I was like, “Wait, weren’t these the bad guys?” I didn’t get it and I still don’t.

Jordan Catalano is more fuckboi than himbo, no?

More “shaman” than “shamin,” I think, but yeah in this case. ;)

That tracks too. Spoiled rotten?

You’re welcome!

You’re welcome! It’s my favourite “why don’t we have that in English?” German word.

Honestly don’t know much about either of them at all. I just get really uncomfortable when a partner gets blamed for someone’s addictive/destructive/tragic behaviour.

OMG, my sister was obsessed with the Stranger Beside Me.

Right? This is such obvious trolling that...maybe it’s not and she really doesn’t get it?

If Lea Michele was that shitty even as a kid, you gotta wonder what her own childhood was like, what kind godawful stage parents she had. Not excusing her apparently lifelong mean girl behaviour, just curious re: her upbringing.
