It’d be interesting if states required car purchases to have taxes paid up front and not be finance-able. I bet it’d be great for consumers (in promoting responsibility at least). Of course, there is zero chance a law like that could be passed. Carmakers and dealerships would lobby endlessly against it and congressmen

Ah I was confused. I thought you were saying you had the 365hp engine.

IMO all sports cars should have manual steering wheel adjustments. It’s unnecessary weight and is something that rarely needs to be changed. And even if it does need to be changed, it is so much easier when it can be done manually. Electronics are slow while manual adjustment is immediate to the spot you like.

The Hyundai logo also looks much better as a negative.

The S2k is a real sports car even by the most pedantic definitions. Light, open top, two seats, high revving, light, and manual only. I loved it whenever I drove it. I just wish I had the means to purchase it when it was on sale. I even love the electronic rev counter and speed indicator. It’s the most practical way

That’s because it has a black interior. Interiors look much better when they’re photographed with lighter interiors which is why press models usually are more likely to have lighter interior color options.

I confused myself writing that out.

The past 2 X5 generations have been available with a third row. The F15's third row was a little tight, however, it’s very clear the Q7 is really an X5/GLE/Cayenne competitor. It’s slightly longer, but it’s clear from the interior quality that it’s not meant to be the full sized competitor. The X7 and GLS are like

The Q8 is equivalent to the X6. The Q8 is actually shorter than the Q7 and is the “coupe” version of the Q7. Audi has no X7 competitor.

It did 0-60 in 5.9 and the 1/4 in 14.5. That’s plenty quick for any car, much less a FWD based AWD SUV. The old 6 speed automatic transmission probably made it feel slower than it was. The fact that it’s a FWD based design definitely doesn’t help either.

I don’t know. The recently released X5 M50i is a very capable SUV and is a few thousand cheaper. Generally I’ve found the X5 to be a far better SUV than the Q7.

Americans really only care about “buying American” if it’s in comparison to Asian carmakers. They’re low key fine with European cars. Even though most volume cars sold in America are made in America whether Japanese, Korea, or American.

Some people prioritize actual features over the badge. Especially for those who cannot buy a luxury brand due to image. Like if your boss drives a Ford, you might not want to drive up in an Audi or even a Lincoln. Or if you care more about maintenance and long term costs.

I know a ton of people are going to make this mistake, but this is not an X7 competitor, it is the X5 competitor. And this particular car directly competes with the very capable and new X5 M50i which starts at $82,510. IMO, the X5 is a better car, has more power, is faster, and is a better SUV.

Uh, the X7 is a class above the Q7. People get this confused all the time and I’me convinced Audi did it on purpose to “one-up” BMW. The X3 is the Q5 competitor, X5 is Q7, and X7 has no Audi equivalent. Even then, the Q7 is slightly cheaper than the X5, but not by much. Also, just because a $120k X7 exists has no

Sure Explorers can creep towards $60k but they start at half that price. If you want all the features a $55k Explorer has, then your Q7 will cost over $80k. That’s a huge price difference.

The Q7 is the X5 competitor. Escalades are a size class higher and are body on frame designs better suited for people needing to tow. Or carry your obese family.

No door handles and no side view mirrors? Concept.

I’ve never owned a British car, but that sounds like a software crash. Not a hardware failure if it came back up after restart. That’s not comforting, but there should be a failsafe that reboots the infotainment in case of a crash. Seems like very poor programming on Jag’s part. Surprise, surprise.

Have you ever seen an infotainment screen failure?
