This is in no way a new car thing. Porsche has been doing this a long time (using the same asymmetrical wheel on both sides). It’s actually very rare for cars to have different parts for the left and right side and is a bit of a logistical nightmare. Especially if you’re trying to rotate your tires.

Are you talking actual OCD? Because that is not a common disorder. If you’re talking about being particular about your car, then that’s not something most people care about. I remember thinking I cared about it back when I first got into cars in the 80s/90s when I was a kid. I always thought it was interesting, but I

How about shitting on any other sports car and calling them pointless compared to the C8? Also, everyone seems to love the SS and Chevy small blockss. Everyone knows the Camaro is the best handling pony car. And it’s fair criticism that it doesn’t look as nice as an S550 Mustang.

I mean everything other than the infotainment. Most of what you need to do can be done on the steering wheel controls and the HUD/gauge cluster. Voice controls or Siri through Carplay work very well these days too. You can also see there are hard function buttons under the screen. The most basic stuff is probably

Why would you go back to the dealer. They lie all the time to make you pay for OEM repairs. An out of warranty A3 probably costs in the neighborhood of $20k at most? $4000 is 1/5 the cost of the car. I guarantee an independent mechanic could have squared you away for half the price or less. And I highly highly doubt

Well I obviously know how to infer since I asked if he meant mild hybrid. I didn’t know if there was some other hybrid tech that I didn’t know about.

We have technology that allows headlights to be small. It’s the next best thing to having pop up headlights. The only reasons larger headlights are part of the design of cars is because they had to be large before. Now that we can use rows of bright LEDs, they don’t have to be very large. Even if something is non

Got a chip on your shoulder?

What’s a light hybrid? Do you mean mild hybrid?

Someone claims the new generation of a beloved car is ruined. It wouldn’t be the launch of a new generation without it. The car looks almost like a large refresh more than a new gen. And the interior is obviously much nicer and more ergonomic.

Directional wheels are relatively rare though. Far more expensive cars have had non directional wheels. Even a lot of Porsche uses non symmetrical wheels and don’t have separate left and right parts. It’s really not a big deal at all.

Eh, screens don’t really die as often as you think. Replacements are also pretty easy to find in the aftermarket or used parts on eBay. It’s not much different from the instrument panel controller dying. In fact, it’s for more common for a button or dial to fail than a touchscreen failing outside of warranty.

Try holding it. It’s a safety but you can force it by holding.

I’m sure you’re right, but I was just using that as a point of comparison as KC is a medium sized city. Rural places will definitely be cheaper and I’m sure most rural areas in America have plenty of $100k homes.

Yes, the persecuted white male. The occasional empty racism must be such a downer for you. All racism/prejudice is wrong. Some minorities have to live it 24/7 though.

I have lived my whole professional life in San Jose and Irvine in some of the most expensive housing markets in the country. I’m also from the Midwest, though, and there are still plenty of nice starter suburban areas with homes in the $100k range. They’re generally going to be about 40-60 minutes from large urban

There are a lot of upper middle class families. They lease or buy the cars and keep them for 3-5 years and then plenty of middle class families can get them used for a decent price.

Parts consolidation. It’s so they can use the same parts in multiple cars. Honestly, I’d prefer to save a little cash and have easier to find parts later in a car’s life than worry about the shape of the sensor that I’ll never ever see while driving.

IMO, it’s not bad for Hyundai to have tech that only Mercedes and BMW use.

Given the limited number of supplies, I don’t think anyone is able to do that with batteries.
