First off, that’s simply not true. I think you need to look up how much maintenance costs are on real supercars that cost $200k. Even if it were though, a used car doesn’t magically have cheaper maintenance costs because you bought it for less than the MSRP. Right?

$1800 is not bad for a high performance car that gets close to supercar level. Not bad at all. A run of the mill BMW 3 series with decent aftermarket parts will cost about $600 in parts. An M3 will cost over $2k in OEM parts and well over $1000 in decent quality aftermarket parts.

Why would you need to replace the calipers with every brake job? Obviously OEM fixed piston calipers are going to be expensive on a car like the GTR. They’re no different from the calipers on a Porsche or Mercedes. They just use painted Brembo calipers like everyone else. That’s actually not a bad price for Brembo

What’s stopping you from using a high quality aftermarket manufacturer and independent mechanic for a brake job? Or just doing it at home? If you’re the type that needs to take their car into the dealership for every service, sure you’ll get ripped off. But they’re just brakes. Unless you get the CCBs, they will not

That logic doesn’t really work though. With other long model run cars, the new cars will be sold with progressively more discounts and used car prices will continue to plummet. Only really desirable cars will have high resale values. Think about it, if the used car is still 70% the value of a new car after 5 years,

The transmission issues aren’t really a thing anymore. You just know that most of the problems are from owners who use launch control every time they drive their car. It’s like these days people don’t understand that even if a carmaker offers something like launch control, they have to use it responsibly. You can’t

Have any examples? Are we talking random interior pieces or drive train parts? Or all of the above? It’s not surprising that a low volume car with a lot of unique parts will have more expensive parts, but I highly doubt they come anywhere close to Ferrari prices. Are you accustomed to buying luxury car parts? I’m not

This is fake news. Random internet commenters have told me the GT-R is overpriced and you can buy one for half the price after 3 years.

So I’m disgusted by our current leadership in America, but we by no means have lost the high ground yet. The Chinese government has re-education camps where ethnic minorities are imprisoned, tortured, and raped. You might say the CBP detention centers are just as bad, but they’re not even close.

Anker was founded by two former Google employees with a lot of ties to America. If you are going to start boycotting Chinese companies, then you pretty much have to boycott every large American company that has a large foothold in China. Which is pretty much every large American company.

Alcantara advantages: breathable as a fabric, more stain resistant than a fabric, lighter weight than leather, has acoustic dampening properties, has the PERFECT amount of grippiness.

Having solar panels and battery packs in your house would solve one of the major issues which is relying on a dogshit company for power. If my living situation was more permanent (over 10 years) I’d definitely invest money in that kind of infrastructure.

We got them as an unwanted option on our X5 (it was just on the lot) and we rarely need to use it. One place I really appreciate them is when I want to close the doors quietly (baby is sleeping for example). You can just gently latch the door and on the first click and the door will just quietly pull itself in. I

Ah I see that brown dash. Looks very nice. Actually works really well with that beige leather.

Isn’t that beige?

Sounds like something a sophomore in college would write. Unnecessary use of the thesaurus.

I think this is very logical, but completely illogical to common sense. The thing is, the law they originally sued on basically just lets the plaintiff recover legal fees from the defendant. The appeals court didn’t say the mechanic is innocent here. They’re just saying this isn’t a case where they can invoke that

I think it’s most likely that MT simply got a favorable dyno measurement. Chassis dynos are notorious for being inconsistent and are best used as tools to measure power deltas. Not absolute values.

For a while between the 1980s to early 2000s, power was pretty much determined by the displacement. These days, displacement is almost completely irrelevant. You could have 350hp from a four cylinder and 260hp from a 6. Or maybe 480 from a 6 cylinder. So what is the point of displacements or even a turbo badge

A much larger benefit is the superior balance of an inline 6. V8s are smoother than straight 4s, but the inline 6 is far better than both.
