Geez, what an unfortunate street name to have luxury car dealerships on.

Nothing more American than buying a car while you’re still paying off your old one.

That’s interesting and it makes a lot of sense. We always have to interpret what our toddler is telling/asking. It’s hard to remember that they’re just imitating our speech patterns and may not fully understand their own words.

I’ve found alcohol is usually cheaper at large liquor stores in America. Even after paying taxes.

Not to minimize it, because I find things like this super interesting. But I feel like any engineer could have devised that mechanism fairly easily. It just uses a notch to self align when it it moves. There are a lot of machines that work on this principle.

Luckily there were only a handful actually delivered to customers as the issue was caught soon enough while the vast majority were in transit or on dealer lots.

With the push for efficiency and concerns over range anxiety, being able to get more range or being able to use fewer batteries is something that automakers are going to want to do. Having a simple gearbox doesn’t seem like a bad idea. Also, we currently use 8, 9, 10 speed automatics with hugely complicated valve

As a former frequent flyer, frequent flyers are some of the most annoying people in the world. They get irritated by the slightest thing that leisure flyers do. Flying a lot is naturally pretty irritating though, so it’s to be expected.

ZF is one of the largest auto parts manufacturers in the world. They make a lot of stuff, not just gearboxes. Also, 5 seconds is not that fast anymore. Down to even 4 seconds with modern stability control systems is controllable by pretty much anybody.

Some people are concerned because while Tesla had two profitable quarters in 2018, they lost $700M in Q1 2019 and we should find out how they did in Q2 soon. These price drops could be indicators of bad news. Hopefully they stay in business, though. It’s cool having a new American car company lead the way for the

Why used? People buy grey market cars through American intermediaries all the time. They just pay them $5000 or something and have them purchase the car for them.

No, the problem is that airlines will give priority customers TSA Pre even if they haven’t applied or paid for it. It’s not really a problem though. At the airports I fly out of, TSA Pre lines are always fast and easy. Even with “green” travelers going through them.

It will also improve performance. It can accelerate faster and go faster. Single speed EVs usually have good 0-60 acceleration, but they start losing steam as the engine loses power at high speeds. Having a second gear is sufficient to keep it in its power band longer. Also, it will improve noise levels which is

This is the best Nissan can do? They slapped on a new front fascia and have the balls to call it the “new” Skyline?

Well the G35/G37 were rebadged Nissan Skyline GT350/GT370. So it doesn’t really matter.

The GT350/GT370 were considered the Japanese BMW 3 series. They were sold as the Infiniti G35/G37 in the states. They had double wishbone suspension, communicative steering, high revving motors, and 6 speed manual transmissions.

You said a lot of things. You mentioned exotic sports car, McLaren, and Porsche. Being priced just under $100k makes you compete with Porsche’s lower end. Does not come close to competing with McLaren, and is not close to any exotic in existence today.

Why does a car built on a mid-engine platform have to be more expensive than a front engine design? It’s simply a bit less practical.

Most people who buy Cadillacs buy them because they have an American badge (mind you they don’t care where the cars/parts are actually made). Enthusiast cars don’t sell well. Cadillac’s core business are “buy American!” types with a bit of money.

The Genesis model will be a longitudinal platform with RWD/AWD. This Palisade is definitely more of an economy car platform related to the Kia Telluride. It just has a lot of comfort features but still has some rough edges (wind noise) and doesn’t drive like a luxury car.
