People talk about how they’re “fine” and how you can still have fun in them. That’s all code for it handles worse than a Mustang or Camaro or most comparable European sports sedans/coupes. I mean, I can have fun in almost any car that has 700hp. But, that’s not a bad thing at all. You get a lot for your money and

Or the finance guy insisted a bit too much on the undercoating and FCA just left in frustration.

That has nothing to do with my point. My point is merely about the existence of the Autobahn package.

To be honest, I’m not sure exactly. I only go to the dealer for warranty work or free maintenance. I see coupons and people bragging about getting <$100 oil changes at the dealership. For parts alone that is about $35 of oil (7 quarts @ $5/quart) and a $8 filter which is $43. You try buying BMW branded LL-01 motor oil

That’s pretty common with a lot of car dealerships. If there is a certain part that is popular, they will often raise the price because they could have a limit on how many they are allocated. That’s when you go to eBay and smaller dealerships in the sticks will sell their allocations since no one goes there anyway.

Maybe it depends on where you live. Or maybe Smart car oil filters are hard to source so they can get away with charging a lot. I have found that a BMW oil change around here can often be cheaper than a quick lube place assuming the quick lube place uses the proper oil.

Dealership prices on tires and oil changes are usually very competitive but not always. That’s because those are common things people price shop and there’s too much competition to try ripping customers off on. Also, a blown radiator hose is just an OEM part (which you might already be sourcing at the dealership) plus

It might still come in handy if it’s a quick/cheap repair like a new radiator hose or flat tire.

That interior styling is done by a lot of different cars. In fact, it was done in some ways by Mazda first.

I’m not sure why you keep talking about your GTI. I’m talking about the Autobahn GTI vs Golf R. I’m saying it makes sense to buy the lower trim GTI, but not the upper trim Autobahn.

While some of my favorite cars were FWD (Integra, Prelude, Civic Si/R), putting Haldex in a FWD car usually helps it out with torque steer, acceleration, and handling. Also, the Golf R has a significant power bump.

Back when I was on the market, there was no markup on Golf Rs and they were available all over the place. Of course, very few dealerships gave me any money off the MSRP at all. And there really aren’t any options you can get on a Golf R except for the automatic transmission. I think MY2016 actually had a $37k version

The Autobahn is $37k and the Golf R is $41k. Why would anyone buy an Autobahn over the Golf R?

Are you sure you’re not confusing this with the Century? The Crown has had a sloped roof for a while. The main difference is that they just added a window in the C pillar to thin out the C pillar. The overall profile seems similar to the last gen Crown.

I doubt they do it on purpose. Painting and maintaining curbs costs money and also doesn’t look very nice. Most suburban areas will not paint the curbs. Also, while paint is usually not required and is used as a visual aid, some Einstein will claim that if the paint is faded that they’re not responsible to know that

I’m not sure when the last time you logged onto CR was, but they highly recommend a lot of Korean cars. Usually it’s Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Kia on top of most “regular car” lists. Subaru gets up there and as some highly rated models as well. Even the GTI is on the list for compact cars. CR doesn’t just rate based on

Eh, it’s growing on me. There are very few reasons I’d buy a Lexus any time in the near future, but they don’t offend me when I drive by. I like that Lexus is trying something bold and different. It is quite interesting for a car company that cut its teeth on quality and conservative design.

I have an SS and the car has huge wheel wells. Wheel gap is huge on these cars so I can see why a donk lover would choose an SS as their victim. It comes stock with 19" wheels and I bet it could fit 21" wheels without looking ridiculous.

If well maintained, that’d be an excellent price. Even for the mileage.

More money often gets you a safer car, though. Why should it be any different within a particular model of a car? Safety features cost money which is why a luxury car of comparable size will usually be safer than an economy car.
