It’s part of their brand identity and I think it looks fine. Hyundai and Kia both have very identifiable and unique (if not influenced by other brands) now. They’re not going anywhere for at least another generation.

IIHS has higher standards than the federal regulations. Obviously if they didn’t meet standards they wouldn’t be legal to sell. So IIHS ratings would make the lowest rating the federal minimum.

It’s also the same shit BMW pulls with the 3 series. SImilar shit headlights and similar disparate IIHS ratings.

The BMW 3 series is notorious for this, actually. The halogens on the F30 were rated poor while the HIDs were good. On newer ones with LEDs, the base models were poor and the higher trims were only acceptable.

I think Chris Harris is a good part of the show, but what really made the show great was that it just seemed like three friends sitting around talking about cars. Harris is a race car driver as well as a professional journalist and he just seems like another journalist reviewing cars. I think the BEST thing the show

Now playing

His public persona during the early 2000s was very very different. He spoke relatively intelligibly and seemed much more sane. There is definitely a large change that has occurred as he aged. It’s not necessarily dementia, of course. He could just be becoming a grumpy old man.

I personally hate the improper usage of coupe, but at this point who cares? There is zero point in fighting it. People just don’t know enough about cars anymore. Even a lot of claimed “enthusiasts” I run into don’t realize that the A5 is a A4 coupe or the M4 is an M3 coupe. They think it’s the next model up.

Well yeah, that’s why they’re called supplementary. Either way, that’s a significant improvement over just seatbelts alone. This doesn’t even take into account the vast amount of money saved on medical bills or people who suffered traumatic brain injuries. If you have a loved one with a TBI, you know how terrible it

The type of people that bother to comment on online articles are going to be your more pedantic and irrational type people anyway. Unwilling to change their opinions no matter what, they will cite some obscure definition that no one uses to support their argument.

Why is it always “rich white people” referred to? Surely any middle-class to upper middle class person regardless of race will act similarly. You make it seem like only white people are well off or that white people are the only ones that complain about rats. That’s obviously not true. Race probably has nothing to do

How many people do you think that 10-15% adds up to?

Actually, many modern cars have pretensioners on seatbelts that operate with explosive charges to pull the person back in the case of a high-g incident. So they won’t explode in your face but they can explode.

If the rumors are true that BMW might end up not releasing a manual M3 (still unsubstantiated rumors at this point), then I promise everyone at Jalopnik that I will buy a new CT4-V manual (if they make one).

Yes, everyone is the same. No one is different. /s

I thought they were pretty ugly at first. But they have some good road presence. I’ve been seeing them pretty frequently where I live and I’ve gotten used to them and they look good now.

You realize that that’s exactly what I’m thinking right now too, right? I’m pointing out that you were factually wrong about what I said in my first comment. I never said the AWD systems were the same and I do think the A4/A5 is indeed better than the one in the VW. So about AWD, that for sure we know you were wrong.

I know you guys have to get your Amazon affiliate links in, but this sawhorse has some pretty terrible reviews. You guys really shouldn’t endorse any product you haven’t tried yourself.

This is something a lot of states don’t have and should implement. I wonder how many accidents and unnecessary standstill traffic poorly maintained cars have caused.

I never said they had the same AWD. I specifically state they have different engine configurations which implies they do not. In fact, in another post I point out the AWD system in the A4/A5 is better. All I said is that they were FWD based cars which they are.

Dude, the TOP TRIM SEL Premium R-Line with 4MOTION costs $46,210. That’s basically a fully loaded car with exception of dealer options like bicycle carriers, or iPad holders. That’s actually a limited edition car. The SEL with 4MOTION actually costs $41,795 and is more comparable to the premium plus A5 which starts at
