I actually prefer the VW’s styling as I think Audi styling is getting LONG in the tooth and they need some new design language. However, I’d still buy the A5 since it has a longitudinal engine configuration and the better AWD system and probably just drives a lot better.

Uh, you’re comparing a very high trim VW to a lower trim A5. Compare them with similar features and the A5 will always be more expensive. By your logic, why would anyone ever buy a BMW 330i (which can sell for $55k) when the 530i is only $55k?

I’d still argue Kia’s is better if you’re going to keep it that long. I’d trade 1 year of b2b for 4 years of powertrain. Especially considering KIA already has a pretty generous b2b warranty for its class.

So which would you rather have? a 5/60k b2b with 10/100k powertrain? Or just a 6/72k b2b? I’d rather have the Stinger’s warranty. Powertrain components are generally more expensive. An engine failure can kill a car and Korean electronics are generally more reliable than German electronics.

We’d just have a few Nissan Leafs, som e-Golfs, 500e, and a few Bolts and Volts. Hardly cars that will get people excited about EVs. Sales would be slow and gradual. Can you honestly say that EV excitement would be anywhere near the level it’s at now if Tesla never existed?

That’s because the major carmakers simply won’t make a Tesla Model S. Any decent group of engineers could make an electric motor and inverter for an EV. It’s already been done. The batteries in these cars are literally off-the-shelf parts (essentially). Nothing Tesla did is really revolutionary except bringing it all

No matter how much you hate Tesla, you have to admit that Tesla is the reason why so many companies are releasing EVs right now. Sure it would have happened eventually, but Tesla jump started the industry. ZERO question about that. I’ll personally buy ICE for at least 1 or 2 more generations. Maybe more if they gain a

That seems about right considering the Raptor is an off-road sport truck. The normal F-150 is just a hair under 80".

Theoretically, you are right. However, to take someone to the regular court system with a lawyer, $5000 would be the absolute minimum it’d be worth suing anybody over. La

Cosmo! I hate Michael Richards as much as I love Cosmo Kramer.

Look, the person you responded too is obviously being ridiculous, but you need to chill out dude. The old RWD M5 is the wrong car to compare the Model 3 performance to. You should be comparing the BMW M3. The M3 is not as quick 0-60, but it is decidedly faster in the 1/4mi with a significantly higher trap speed.

First off, I replied to the top comment in this thread which was comparing the CTR to the “comparably priced” Tesla which is only the base model 3. Why are you including the standard plus which is already more expensive? Either way, they’re BOTH slower than the Civic Type R and have fewer features at their starting

Power steering column and seats are completely unnecessary in almost any single driver car. A car like this will rarely even be driven much less switched between two or more different drivers.

It might be good business to bring rust-free used cars to snow states. Especially cars like the Miata or Tacoma.

That’s such a misleading statement. That takes into account old cars which are far more likely to catch fire. Also, when a gasoline car catches on fire, it’s usually a slow burn in the engine bay that is easily escapable. In a Tesla, it goes from 0-100 pretty quickly and can be much more dangerous. I’d like to see how

Came here to say the exact same thing. I couldn’t believe so many fanboys were trying to sell that idea.

lol, I have definitely driven my share of Teslas. Where I’m from, they’re every other car. I already stated that the UI is good. But that’s a result of Tesla consolidating what should be tactile buttons into the center screen to save on costs. Paying a few software engineers to design a good UI is cheaper than

Not necessarily. Some people get really mad when they get stuck behind a car in a single lane expressway like this. I’ve definitely seen cars that just lost it because they felt the car in front wasn’t going fast enough.

So an even more expensive Tesla still can’t match the speed of the Type R. OK, so are you trying to prove my point? 0.4-0.7s for a 0-60 time is actually fairly significant. People pay thousands of dollars to shave 0.2s off their 0-60 time. Either by modifications or a higher trim level.

You seem to have come into the middle of a conversation with zero context. We are talking about (for some reason) the comparably priced Civic Type R and the base Tesla Model 3 which are both priced at around $35,000. The Si only costs $24k.
