I’d argue the Model 3's interior FEELs like econobox trash, but actually looks pretty cool in a concept car kind of way. The quality of materials is just slightly disappointing.

“vanishingly” small? Uh, I agree that we’ll continue to see declines in sedan sales, but that’s only 1 year away. There’s no way the sedan market will dry up that quickly. For the near future, sedan sales will decline, but we have no idea what will happen to the market. They could level out at some point or even go…
It’s for people that like the coupe styling but want four doors. Like the Mercedes CLS or the BMW 4 series Gran Coupe.
Tesla’s practical and versatile skateboard design.
woosh
Why wouldn’t older parts be sold though? Who would throw away an engine that could be rebuilt?
I owned a hybrid. Neither heat nor a/c were electric.
The Enzo is built like an F1 car with body panels and a fully enclosed 2 person cabin. It is made with a carbon fiber true monocoque chassis designed like a race car. This isn’t all that uncommon anymore, but the 458 is still built more like a normal unibody car. The Enzo also has that V12. It also only had something…
There is no way a 90hp car is faster to 60 than a 150hp car. Horsepower ultimately decides how fast a car is. Horsepower = Torque x RPM. If you have more torque you can make more power quickly, but ultimately 90hp is 90hp. To put the difference between torque and hp in perspective, the top speed of a car is completely…
Different people like different things. Most people I know like living in clean neighborhoods and being able to address problem neighbors. The problem with relying on the government to enforce bylaws is that you’re at the mercy of a government employee. They could be great or they could take 6 years to respond. The…
If you’ve ever been the person on the other side of your story, you’d know that it’s exponentially harder collecting money from people with less money. I know it sounds obvious, but it’s really frustrating. People are constantly shorting you $20 here and there on purpose. People pay 1, 2, 5, 10 days late consistently.…

These are not luxury cars, they’re just mid sized German sedans. I remember growing up my dad had an E34 and the interior looked VERY different. Seats were leather, there was a trip computer, automatic climate control, and probably a nicer stereo. The way this is appointed it looks like a large VW.
Hatch alignment issues are rampant on Model 3s, but of course “most” cars are aligned well enough. The problem is, though, that Tesla as a company accepts these defects and their customers accept them as well. It’s a dumbing down of expected quality and QA standards.
I was really searching for this especially egregious example:
Maaaybe after the tax credits. But yeah, lithium ion batteries are still expensive. They’re pretty much a commodity at this point. It’s a huge reason why Tesla needs to sell cars direct. If they didn’t, their cars would cost even more than they do now.
Volvo is still in the realm of normal car manufacturers. Somewhere between Toyota and Range Rover. Tesla delivers cars like this:
It could just be someone in their 40s-50s who grew up idolizing this car who is now making $500k/year. If I were 10 years older and made that much money, I might purchase this car to drive on the weekends. Why not? If there is a recession coming, car prices will likely plummet.
It doesn’t have to be made in the US, per se. It’s difficult finding jacks made here short of professional quality that are very expensive. If you buy one from a reputable American company, it will be made to the same standards.
Current stock prices are reflections of what investors thought the price would be. Essentially, the current stock price is a best guess of where the company will be, not where it currently is.
