AFAIK, new car warranties last until YOU drive the car 36,000 miles. Not when the odometer reads 36,000 miles. As long as the in-service date is set properly, anyway. On this 100 mile Accord, that would almost certainly be the case. On a demo car or loaner car, the in-service date might have already started so you

My point is that for half of Americans that have iPhones, Siri sucks. It defaults to Apple Maps which still has inferior mapping and just doesn’t work as well as well with smart home integration and many other functions. So Alexa is superior. Also, having a cheap speaker integrated into your car is better than having

My point is that compared to Alexa, Siri sucks. So yes, you can use Siri without touching the device, but it’s not very good. You also would have to mount your phone somewhere on your car every time you got in, which is actually not that big of a deal.

The blue ring light still stays on while it’s listening, and this is akin to opening up a malicious app which ANY system can be susceptible to. Those are some pretty big hoops to Alexa being a tool that Amazon can use to spy on you with.

Maybe if you have an Android phone. Siri just sucks though.

Using a phone in the car is illegal in many states. Even touching the phone in some states is illegal. It is also legitimately distracting. With the Echo Auto, you just use voice commands without even pressing a button.

Siri sucks. Also, only newer cars have Siri integration. Most car owners would have to get their phone out and press a button. This is already a crime in California and probably will be in more and more states with zero tolerance cell phone laws.

Well there you go. Try out one of the longitudinal 8 speeds these days, particularly the ZF 8HP or the Aisin 8 speed or hyundai 8 speed in newer cars. They shift very quickly and the ZF 8HP particularly has extremely quick response times to manual shifts if tuned properly.

Let me tell you about a bunch of cars on the road that don’t have either.

Siri doesn’t integrate very well in virtually all cars on the road. Most people don’t buy brand new luxury cars every two years, you know.

Let’s say you need directions to a local Starbucks. You can get out your phone, unlock it, open Maps, type in a search, then click it and ask for directions.

Instead of people looking up directions to Home Depot from their phone, they can now ask Alexa. Alexa is a purely verbal interface, it has the potential to increase driver attention.

This is a car blog. There are a ton of people who are resistant to even the most basic of technology. I love my analog cars, but it’s a natural and inevitable step for us to have smart speaker/assistants in our cars.

There’s dedicated local circuitry with a buffer of only a few seconds that listens for a keyword. It is very difficult to monitor what someone is saying without having the blue ring lights turn on after being triggered by saying Alexa. If the blue ring lights aren’t on, your voice is NOT being sent anywhere outside of

The NHTSA test is far easier to ace than the IIHS tests. While I have little doubt that the Model 3 will also do well on the IIHS tests, it’s not uncommon for cars to get 5 star ratings on the NHTSA tests.

I really don’t think I’m being pedantic here. I don’t think it’s just “technically true.” Any place that sells cars is a dealership. That’s just the name for it. You can use the term “used car lot” as a way to denote a dealership that is particularly small, but a dealership in no way implies large size, or attached

Large fixed calipers are there for aesthetic appeal. If you’re tracking your car, you can upgrade your brakes. If you’re not, a decent set of floating calipers is more than sufficient.

Dude, what are your qualifications? A higher steering ratio means you have to turn the steering wheel MORE to get the wheels to turn. 1:1 is sportiest (motorcycles).

Don’t forget about that super unique 5 link rear suspension. Never seen that before. It must handle exactly like a Macan!

A company that sells car is a dealership. It doesn’t mean the business is big or small. It just means they’re a licensed place to sell cars, a dealership. What are you talking about?
