Exactly right. The fact that they took the lock from HER door indicates this is a real effort to find out what really happened. The only thing that can do is disprove her side of the story.

BMW is a terrible example because BMW leases are far cheaper than any other luxury brand. BMW is now re-strategizing their residuals and lease prices are going up. They’re focusing on profit margins and less on volume like they have been up until now. MB and Audi leases have always been much higher than BMW.
What car did you have immediately prior to your DCT A4?
This is a commonly used argument, but the very reason Hyundai created the Genesis brand is to combat depreciation. Also, the difference is unlikely to make up for the price gap between brands.
Battlestar Galactica.
Hybrids make diesels irrelevant in the United States where diesels don’t already have a strong foothold in the market like in Europe.
The C63 AMG starts at $67,000. How do you think the A45 AMG would start at $75K? Lol, that’s ridiculous.
Why do you treat a luxury limousine as if horsepower is the most important figure? They spend the money on building a car that is impeccably featured. The interior appointments and materials used to build all the parts of this car are more Rolls Royce than Mercedes.
How does the MagneRide tuning compare to GM’s tuning on the Camaro? I personally think that GM does an amazing job with it.
But this has a three point star on the grille. I’m guessing people are more willing to spend $40k on a MB hot hatch vs a VW hot hatch.
Will North America be getting this car? Americans usually can’t wrap their heads around “luxury” brands making well-built economy cars.
I doubt they’d rent to you more than once or twice if you have to use their $2500 deductible each time.
The $2500 is just a deposit. They probably just put a pending charge on a credit card. You’ll never ever have to actually pay for it. Anyway, this would be for a special occasion. Maybe a birthday present for a spouse or friend.
Some family members could have put their house up as bond. It’s also not unusual for a family member to be able to loan $300,000. She’s hardly a flight risk.
You’re talking to the wrong audience. When you say we’re never going to buy one anyway, you’re directly addressing a lot of people that do in fact buy brand new cars. Cars with manuals, higher output engine options, higher trims. People who read Jalopnik aren’t your average Joe. We are here because we like cars. And…
Sounds like it might be the BMW B38 engine. They don’t sound great without active sound.
Since the GT-R is one of the only cars still using hydraulic steering (except for some supercars like McLaren and Ferrari), it does have more feel than pretty much all other $100k sports cars. It’s interesting that a car that started life as a high-tech wizardry is suddenly “analog” now.
If you stuck cameras directly on the A pillar, you wouldn’t get a very sharp view of your blind spots. The camera has to stick out away from the body at least a few inches. That is, unless they could stitch together views from 2-3 different cameras together. That’d be pretty cool.
Even if you had a super wide angle lens, you’d need to have the camera ideally as far away from the body of the car as possible. You’ll get a better view of directly behind your car the farther away you are. A three camera system that stitched your side cameras and rear view camera together might be the best solution.
What about not having to adjust the mirrors and not having to every worry about blind spots again? Aerodynamic drag is actually not insignificant on rear view mirrors and losing a few pounds doesn’t make it any better. Steady state driving down the freeway, weight has very little effect on mileage. Aerodynamic drag is…
